Tottenham Hotspur's new dawn started promisingly at Brentford last weekend with Spurs impressing in possession but showing vulnerabilities without the ball in an entertaining 2-2 draw.

Ange Postecoglou's Lilywhites are set to be a far cry from Tottenham's dreary recent iterations, and the absence of Harry Kane will only add to the unfamiliarity.

The idealistic switch is undoubtedly for the better, with Ange's principles once again being put to the test on Saturday evening as Tottenham host Manchester United.

Here's the starting XI the Australian manager could pick on his home managerial debut in N17.

GK: Guglielmo Vicario - It hasn't been the most convincing start to his Tottenham career, with Vicario yet to keep a clean sheet at his new club.

RB: Emerson Royal - It was a difficult outing for Emerson at Brentford, although he did score a fine goal to draw Spurs level before half-time. Ange seems to favour the Brazilian's defensive security over Pedro Porro's proficiency in possession.

CB: Cristian Romero - A head injury forced Romero off after he scored Tottenham's first goal of the Postecoglou era. However, it looks as if Spurs' new vice-captain will be fine to start against United.

CB: Micky van de Ven - Sure, it may have only been one outing, but it looks like Spurs have got a serious defender on their hands. Jan Vertonghen 2.0, dare I say it?

LB: Destiny Udogie - The young Italian impressed in pre-season, and his Premier League debut excited the entire Tottenham fanbase. It looks like he's going to be a mainstay at the start of the club's new dawn.

CM: Yves Bissouma - Released from Antonio Conte's shackles, Bissouma is a man reborn with his rediscovered confidence manifesting in west London last Sunday. The Mali international is set for a bounceback campaign at the base of Tottenham's midfield.

CM: Pape Matar Sarr - Oliver Skipp's brace in Barcelona earned him a spot in Ange's first-ever Premier League XI, but he was pretty anonymous at Brentford. The new manager is a big fan of the elegant Sarr, and the young Senegalese midfielder could make a rare Premier League start on Saturday.

CM: James Maddison - The dazzling creator has quickly emerged as a protagonist for his new club. Maddison set up both of Spurs' goals last weekend and is bound to play a key role in taking advantage of a porous United midfield on Saturday.

RW: Dejan Kulusevski - Spurs fans haven't seen Kulusevski at his best for quite some time, and there are questions regarding his suitability for the touchline role down the right. Manor Soloman is knocking on the door.

ST: Richarlison - It was a tough outing for Richarlison last time out, with the manager admitting that his side didn't use the Brazilian enough. After scoring just once in the league last season, Brazil's number nine must start finding the net soon to garner the confidence of a fanbase reeling from the loss of their all-time record goalscorer.

LW: Son Heung-min - Like Kulusevski, there are question marks over Son's capacity to play out wide in Ange's system. It was a slow start for the new skipper at Brentford, and a tough outing against supreme one-v-one defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka awaits.
