Tottenham confirm appointment of Scott Munn as chief football officer

Tottenham have confirmed the appointment of Scott Munn as the team's new chief football officer.

Since the start of the 2022/23 season, Spurs have been exploring ways to improve operations behind the scenes and the arrival of Munn, a former City Football Group Executive, is part of that plan.

"Scott has a unique and broad experience of running sporting organisations at the highest level and will take responsibility for the leadership and management of our football activities to instil best practice both on and off the pitch," said chairman Daniel Levy.

Munn previously worked as the chief executive officer of Melbourne City in Australia and City Football Group China, but this is his first position in English football.

Munn's appointment is not believed to have anything to do with the uncertainty surrounding Fabio Paratici. The Italian stepped down as managing director while he lodges an appeal against FIFA's global ban.

Should Paratici succeed in his appeal and return to work, he would work under Munn alongside performance director Gretar Steinsson and head of football strategy Andy Scoulding.

Spurs are in a period of real transition both on and off the pitch, with the departure of Antonio Conte as manager only adding to the uncertainty.

The likes of Luis Enrique, Julian Nagelsmann and Mauricio Pochettino are all of interest to Spurs, but London rivals Chelsea are also looking for a new manager and are pursuing many of the same candidates.
