Arsenal left-back Steph Catley has signed a new deal to remain with the Gunners.

Catley is the fourth player to sign a new contract with the club since Christmas, following on from Kim Little, Lia Walti and Frida Maanum, all of whom have pledged their futures to Arsenal in recent months.

The Australian moved to north London in 2020 and has since gone on to make 74 apperances for the club. This season saw her also fill in as a centre-back following injuries to Leah Williamson and Rafaelle in October and made 32 apperances in total for the side since the start of the campaign.

"It feels amazing – this feels like home," Catley said of staying at Arsenal.

"I've made some incredible friendships here and when the offer came around I knew exactly what I wanted to do and exactly where I wanted to be. I’ve never been happier playing football and I feel like this team is very special – we’re building something special and in the future we’re capable of achieving anything."

The 29-year-old spent several weeks sidelined with injury during this campaign with the Gunners, adding to their list of injuries however, made a return to the pitch in time for their final game of the season.

Head Coach Jonas Eidevall said: "I'm delighted Steph has signed a new contract with us. Steph is one of the best defenders in the game and brings so much to this group both on and off the pitch.

"She's a model professional and has delivered time and again when called upon throughout my time here, so we’re all pleased to say Steph will continue to be a part of Arsenal for years to come."

Catley has made over 100 appearances for her country and will play a significant role in Australia's 2023 World Cup campaign on home soil in just a few weeks' time
