Man Utd's quiet start to the summer transfer window has livened up with the £60m arrival of Mason Mount from domestic rivals Chelsea.

Erik ten Hag's debut season at Old Trafford was one of promise but the Dutchman's bright start means expectations are higher heading into year two. The club are said to be working under tight Financial Fair Play constraints this summer but did manage to negotiate Chelsea down to a smaller fee to bring Mount to Old Trafford.

The England international is expected to play a key role for Ten Hag next season and beyond which is reflected by his reported salary at the club.

Mount penned a long-term deal with Chelsea before his breakthrough 2019/20 under Frank Lampard worth £80,000-a-week.

His salary paled in comparison to some of his Blues teammates by the time 2022/23 rolled around and he rejected an extension offered by the west London club worth just shy of £200,000-a-week due to the length of the contract and image right concerns.

Mason Mount's reported Man Utd salary

Mount's reported weekly wage at United will exceed the amount offered to him by Chelsea. The Red Devils are said to have offered the England international a deal worth £250,000-a-week which could rise to £300,000 if performance-related add-ons are met.

Thus, the Chelsea academy graduate will earn a base salary of £13m at United. However, Mount doesn't come close to being his new club's highest-earner.

Mount's weekly wage of £250,000 and salary of £13m currently makes him the fifth-highest earner at United, although the above table does include David de Gea's old contract worth £375,000-a-week.

De Gea is currently a free agent after his contract expired and it remains to be seen whether he'll be at the club next season. The Spaniard has overseas suitors, but he could yet stay at United on considerably reduced terms with United poised to signs a new number one this summer.

With De Gea currently off the club's books, Jadon Sancho is the highest-earner after he signed a deal worth £375,000-a-week following his arrival in 2021. Raphael Varane earns £340,000, while Casemiro's weekly wage is £300,000 after signing for the club last summer.

Mount's reported salary matches Anthony Martial's and exceeds the likes of Bruno Fernandes (£240,000), Antony (£200,000), and Marcus Rashford (£200,000).
