Folded arms, expression-less face, a general air of enviable arrogance. Kylian Mbappe's eye-watering goal tallies have made his distinct celebration iconic but it originally belonged to his brother Ethan.

Over a fraternal game of FIFA, the younger Mbappe scored a goal against Kylian and celebrated with a pair of tucked arms. After basking in the virtual glory, Ethan suggested that his big brother replicate the move in an actual match.

The first chance Mbappe had came in a Champions League quarter-final against Borussia Dortmund for Monaco in 2017. Much to Ethan's delight, Mbappe scored and celebrated but let his sibling know: "Now I've stolen it, it's mine!"

Six years on, any gamer in the world can command Mbappe to fold his arms after a virtual goal. Given the hefty rating that the Frenchman holds ahead of the new release - which has been rebranded as EA Sports FC 24 - it's never been easier to score with Mbappe.

Here's how Mbappe's ratings and stats compare to some of his peers.

No player - male or female - in EA FC24 has a higher rating than Mbappe's 91. The stat that leaps off the Frenchman's lofty card is his staggering 97 pace.

Aston Villa's Matty Cash came up against Mbappe's France while representing Poland in the 2022 World Cup and described how the winger was "burning my legs".

"He drops the shoulder, goes short then long," Cash recalled. "You look over your shoulder and he's there."

Naturally, PSG's all-time leading scorer also ranks highly for shooting (90) and dribbling (92).

Despite racking up 22 top-flight assists since the summer of 2021 - a tally just two Ligue 1 players can better this timeframe - Mbappe only boasts a score of 80 for passing.

Haaland has been billed as Mbappe's counterweight in a desperate struggle for the recreation of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo's iconic rivalry. EA Sports have done nothing to quash this already tiresome comparison by handing Haaland the same overall rating as Mbappe.

Kevin De Bruyne, Haaland's teammate at treble winners Manchester City, is the only other male player with an overall score as high as 91 - Barcelona's Alexia Putellas is the highest-ranked female player and also boasts a rating of 91.

The only top-line stat that exceeds Haaland's overall score is his shooting (93). The prolific Norwegian became the first player in 92 years to rack up at least 50 goals across all competitions for an English club during a staggering debut campaign.

After such an impressive season - both individually and collectively - it's unsurprising that the 23-year-old was bumped up to 91 from an overall rating of 88 at the start of last year's game.

LAFC's Giorgio Chiellini was the highest-rated MLS player in FIFA 23 with a score of 84. A year on, Messi comfortably tops that specific list with a rating of 90.

The 36-year-old defied his age with a spate of mesmeric displays to steer Argentina to the nation's first World Cup since 1986 at the Qatar World Cup. Messi scored in six of his country's seven matches, including twice in a thrilling final. Mbappe, one of only three male players ranked higher in FC24, famously netted a hat-trick in that same game.

This may be the slowest version of Messi - his pace has dropped again to 80 - but he can still boast impressive scores for shooting (87), passing (90) and particularly dribbling (94). Of the 24 highest-rated players in this year's game, Messi is the most accomplished weaver.
