Chelsea will return home from Spain to take on Brighton in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

The Blues' slim hopes of silverware via the Champions League took a hit as they were beaten 2-0 by Real Madrid in the first leg of their quarter final tie.

Interim manager Frank Lampard is yet to oversee a win or see his side score a goal in his two games since replacing Graham Potter. Here's the side he may pick with the aim of ending that run against the Seagulls.

GK: Kepa Arrizabalaga - His spot is definitely vulnerable with Edouard Mendy available should Lampard opt to switch his goalkeepers.

RB: Reece James - Got given the runaround slightly by Vinicius on Wednesday, but then again few emerge from battles with the electric Brazilian unscathed.

CB: Wesley Fofana - Chelsea may revert to a back four and with Kalidou Koulibaly likely miss out, that should mean another start for Fofana.

CB: Thiago Silva - Made a brilliant goal-line clearance against Real and was pivotal in making sure the margin of defeat wasn't greater.

LB: Marc Cucurella - Would make sense for Lampard to start Cucurella in order to build some more rhythm and consistency before the return leg with Real next week, where Ben Chilwell will be suspended.

CM: Conor Gallagher - Hasn't displayed the same goal threat for Chelsea he did while on loan with Crystal Palace. A good end to the season could secure his Stamford Bridge future.

CM: Enzo Fernandez - Got exposed defensively as Real swarmed all over Chelsea. Should see more of the ball and be more effective against the Seagulls.

CM: Mateo Kovacic - Faced his former side in midweek and picked up a booking late on.

RW: Raheem Sterling - Received a lot of support from Lampard upon his return but was unsurprisingly quiet as the Blues struggled in attack against Real.

ST: Kai Havertz - Scored in three consecutive games in March but has endured a barren spell in April alongside the rest of his teammates.

LW: Joao Felix - Scuppered a wonderful early chance to put Chelsea ahead at the Bernabeu. Needs to start offering end product in the final third.
