Wrexham sealed their promotion to League One on Saturday with an emphatic 6-0 win over Forest Green Rovers.

Having jumped up from the National League last season, Wrexham have now secured back-to-back promotions for the first time in club history and will play in England's third tier for the first time since 2004/05.

Wrexham, owned by Hollywood icons Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, sealed automatic promotion to League One in style with a comprehensive victory over bottom-side Forest Green, meaning they can no longer finish any lower than third this season.

With two games left to play this season, Wrexham are still mathematically in the race for the League Two title but they currently find themselves four points behind leaders Stockport County, who also have a game in hand.

Wrexham are due to meet Stockport on the final day of the season but that game is unlikely to be a title decider unless the current leaders fall into an almighty slump.

Wrexham's return to League Two initially got off to a chaotic start, with a 5-3 loss at the hands of MK Dons leaving critics suggesting Phil Parkinson's side were not good enough for this level of football.

Three draws from the next four games failed to raise spirits much higher but, after a 5-0 defeat to leaders Stockport on September 23, Wrexham then enjoyed a run of just one defeat from 15 games to cement their status as promotion hopefuls.

Crewe Alexandra are on the schedule for Wrexham next week before the season will close out against Stockport at the SToK Cae Ras on April 27.
