The Premier League have revealed the eight players up for nomination for the 2023/24 Young Player of the Season award.

Any player aged 23 or younger at the start of the season is eligible for the award, which will be decided by a combination of a public vote and a panel of experts.

Last year's winner, Erling Haaland is once again up for the prize after another electric goalscoring campaign. The Manchester City star has 25 goals in 28 games at the time of the shortlist's revelation, leading the Golden Boot charge once again.

City have won this award three times in a row, with Haaland ending the two-year reign of Phil Foden. The 23-year-old is back in the running this year after a sensational campaign which saw him recently named the FWA Footballer of the Year as well.

Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak is hoping to pick up the award after an incredible individual season. Rumours of £100m moves to Europe's elite are no coincidence after the Swede's haul of 20 goals in 27 games.

Kobbie Mainoo of Manchester United makes his first shortlist and, at only 19, could be a regular feature for years to come. The midfielder has firmly established himself as an integral part of the Red Devils' midfield, with a maiden England call-up during the last international break a fair reward for his performances.

2023/24 has been a mixed season for Chelsea fans but the form of Cole Palmer has been an undisputed highlight. In his first year at Stamford Bridge, the former Man City youngster has put the team on his back at times and launched a surprise Golden Boot charge with 21 goals and nine assists.

Over at Arsenal, Bukayo Saka is vying to get his hands on the prize for the first time. Saka leads the Gunners for both goals and assists this year and will hope to wrestle the crown away from his Man City rivals.

William Saliba joins Saka on the shortlist after another dazzling campaign at the heart of the Premier League's meanest defence. Mikel Arteta's side have allowed just 28 goals so far, with Saliba playing a huge role in that success.

Rounding things off is Tottenham Hotspur left-back Destiny Udogie. While his season may have been ended by injury, his time on the pitch was truly sublime. The 21-year-old was a star of Ange Postecoglou's back line and fans are eagerly awaiting his return to full fitness next year.
