Manchester United fell to yet another underwhelming defeat on Saturday lunchtime, with the Red Devils losing 2-0 at West Ham United in the Premier League.

Lovely goals from Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus condemned Erik ten Hag's side to a disappointing loss, the Irons overtaking Man Utd in the league table just before Christmas.

It was ultimately a day of frustration for the 13-time Premier League champions, who failed to score for a fourth consecutive game.

A trip to the London Stadium is tricky enough at the best of times, but Raphael Varane's illness meant that 19-year-old Willy Kambwala was handed a surprise debut at centre-back. A huge opportunity for the youngster, the Frenchman partnered 35-year-old Jonny Evans in the heart of defence.

In keeping with plenty of this season's early Saturday kick-offs, it was a flat opening half at the London Stadium. Neither side was playing with much intensity, the best chance falling to the feet of Alejandro Garnacho, but the Argentine was unable to finish from a promising position.

It was another disappointing afternoon for Rasmus Hojlund who failed to find the back of the net yet again in the Premier League. It's now 14 English top-flight matches without a goal for the Β£72m summer signing.

Despite the game being, well, pretty woeful, West Ham managed to create one moment of pure magic. Lucas Paqueta's delightful chipped through ball set Bowen through on goal and, with a little fortune, the winger bundled the ball into the back of the net.

Bowen will grab the headlines, but the pass from Paqueta was simply sublime.

Mohammed Kudus was on hand to finish the game off with a little over ten minutes remaining, Kobbie Mainoo's mistake pounced on by the West Ham man. The summer signing produced an effortless finish beyond Andre Onana, Erik ten Hag's side firmly switching back to crisis mode.

Defeats for Man Utd have been all too common this season, Ten Hag's side failing to ever get out of second gear in London. For the club's supporters, it was a familiar tale of woe.
