Manchester City duo Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne produced a performance for the ages against Luton Town in Tuesday's FA Cup clash.

The Norwegian striker netted five (yes, FIVE) goals during a 6-2 demolition of the Hatters at Kenilworth Road, while his Belgian teammate set up four of them in a dazzling display.

The result books Man City's place in the quarter-final as they look to defend their FA Cup crown, but this was an evening to sit back and simply enjoy two of the world's best footballers.

Haaland is no stranger to a hat-trick for Man City, but he hasn't managed many quicker than he did against Luton. The 23-year-old produced his first after three minutes and had his third just before the break, all of his efforts ruthlessly dispatched.

But, with Pep Guardiola not in the mood for mercy, Haaland strutted out for the second half to rub more salt in the gaping Luton wounds, adding a further two in just two minutes following the restart.

The former Borussia Dortmund striker was simply unpayable, torturing the Luton centre-backs from start to finish. There has been plenty of competition for this accolade, but it may have been his best outing in a Man City shirt.

Haaland may have rattled in five, but he owes an enormous debt of gratitude to De Bruyne. The Belgian maestro set up four of them with his sensational playmaking, sending a firm warning sign to Premier League rivals Manchester United head of this weekend's derby.

Unfortunately for De Bruyne, he still didn't walk away as man of the match.

Spare a thought for poor Luton midfielder Jordan Clark, who bagged two fantastic strikes of his own but still left Kenilworth Road on the end of a trouncing, as did Ross Barkley despite his two assists.
