Group F was projected to be tight heading into the tournament and that's exactly how the group has played out thus far.

Canada, on their first World Cup appearance since 1986, have been eliminated despite an impressive performance against Belgium on Matchday 1, but the other three teams have everything to play for heading into the final round of group fixtures.

Here's how Croatia, Morocco and Belgium can each qualify for the 2022 World Cup round of 16.

Croatia

Croatia were held by a stubborn Morocco in their tournament opener before they blew away tournament novices Canada on Matchday 2.

The 2018 runners-up were majestic against the Canadians, exuding total control after going behind early on in the contest amid a 4-1 triumph.

What do Croatia need?

Croatia currently top Group F by one goal and they will qualify for the round of 16 with a victory or draw against Belgium on Matchday 3.

Defeat for Zlatko Dalic's side and they'll need Canada to beat Morocco. Goal difference will then come into play - as it will in the bid for top spot if both Croatia and Morocco win.

Morocco

Walid Regragui's Morocco are built for tournament football. They look incredibly tough to break down, and they've kept two clean sheets against a pair of stellar footballing nations in their opening two games.

After stifling Croatia on Matchday 1, Morocco stunned a tepid Belgium in the second-half as they claimed a deserved 2-0 victory.

What do Morocco need?

Morocco are in a great position to qualify and they'll book their place in the round of 16 if they avoid defeat against the already-eliminated Canada on Matchday 3.

They'll also qualify with a defeat if Croatia beat Belgium.

However, if they lose and the other game ends in a draw, they'll fight with Belgium for a place in the round of 16. Both teams will be on four points and goal difference (followed by goals scored and head-to-head) will come into play.

Belgium

Expectations were subdued for this ageing Belgium side heading into the 2022 World Cup, but very few expected them to look this poor.

The Red Devils were incredibly fortunate to beat Canada in their opening game before they were shut out by Morocco on Matchday 2. As a result, their status in the tournament is in question heading into their final group game against Croatia.

What do Belgium need?

Victory over Croatia will see Belgium progress and they could advance with a draw if Canada beat Morocco by four or more goals.

Martinez's side will top the group if Morocco fail to beat Canada and they beat Croatia.
