Paris Saint-Germain may already be breaking new ground by reaching the Champions League final this year, but it's not only the men's side which is taking Europe by storm.

The women's Champions League is also ongoing, and with teams competing in the quarter-final stage, there is still plenty left to play for in this illustrious competition. Saturday evening saw the French side face off against Premier League giants Arsenal for a place in the semi-final, while reigning champions Lyon also hoped to book their spot in the next round against Bayern Munich.

90min takes a look back at an exciting evening of Champions League action.

It was a bitterly disappointing night for Arsenal, who were knocked out of the women's Champions League by PSG in a tough 2-1 defeat. The French side took the lead after a quarter of an hour, when Marie-Antoinette Katoto dispatched an excellent near-post volley to plunge the Gunners into trouble.

But Joe Montemurro's team rallied, and they pulled level just before half-time, thanks to a lovely curling strike from England forward Beth Mead. Arsenal battled to snatch the advantage, but they were dealt a killer blow on 77 minutes, when Signe Bruun arrived from the substitute's bench to tap home and break north London hearts.

Defeat for the Gunners means it's the end of their adventure, and they now know they will play no part in next season's Champions League, as qualification through European success is no longer a possibility.

PSG will play fellow French side Lyon in the semi-final though, after the current champions defeated Bayern 2-1 to continue their climb to the European summit. They had to wait until the 41st minute to break the deadlock, but Nikita Parris was on hand to do so, scoring a brave header past an onrushing goalkeeper.

Amel Majri doubled Lyon's advantage, and although Carolin Simon pulled one back for Bayern, it wasn't enough to stop the champions on their march to defending the title.
