What teams are in the Euro 2024 qualification draw?
53 of UEFA's 55 member associations will compete in qualifying. Germany as hosts do not need to qualify and Russia were ineligible having been suspended by UEFA and FIFA after the country invaded Ukraine.
The four teams who have reached the 2022/23 Nations League finals - the Netherlands, Croatia, Spain and Italy - have been placed in the UNL Pot, meaning they will be placed in smaller groups with fewer qualifying games to make space for the Nations League final.
Denmark, Portugal and Belgium make up half of Pot 1, while England are joined by France, Wales and Scotland in Pot 2. The Republic of Ireland are in Pot 3 and neighbours Northern Ireland are down in Pot 5.
How do teams qualify for Euro 2024?
The qualifying group stage will determine 20 of the 23 teams that will join hosts Germany at the final tournament.
The sides are divided into ten groups and matches are played home and away in a round-robin format. The winners and runners-up in each group qualify directly for Euro 2024, leaving three teams to reach the tournament through the Nations League play-offs.
When is the Euro 2024 group stage draw?
The draw for the Euro 2024 group stage will take place in December 2023 at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg. Teams will be seeded based on the overall European Qualifiers ranking.
The three play-off winners will not be known at the time of the draw and the teams participating in those matches will be placed in Pot 4.
Germany are the only team at present to have qualified for the tournament by virtue of being hosts and have automatically been placed in Group A.
