The United States men's national team will take on Mexico for the 75th time in the inaugural edition of the Allstate Continental Clásico on April 19th in Glendale, Arizona.

The USMNT will be heading into the match looking to continue their winning streak, which includes two back-to-back victories in the CONCACAF Nations League against Grenada and El Salvador. But though they are in the midst of a rebuild, Mexico will not be an easy opponent. New Head coach Diego Cocca has called up a Liga MX-heavy roster in hopes of stunning their North American rivals.

USMNT team news

The USMNT head into this highly anticipated matchup looking to get their third straight win in all competitions. Interim head coach Anthony Hudson is still at the helm of the Stars and Stripes, and hopes to continue establishing himself and the American side as a force to be reckoned with.

Because this match lands outside of a mandated FIFA international window, many European-based players did not get called in, with the exception of Segino Dest, who has fallen out of favor at AC Milan. Instead, Hudson went with an MLS-heavy roster, with Brandon Vazquez and Cade Cowell headlining the squad.

Regarding injuries, FC Dallas midfielder Paxton Pomykal was brought in due to knocks to forward Paul Arriola and midfielder Cristian Roldan.

Mexico team news

Likewise, Mexico head coach Diego Cocca largely called in a domestic-based roster, with most of the squad playing in Liga MX with the exception of FC Barcelona right-back Julian Araujo and LA Galaxy's Efrain Alvarez.

This will be the first time head coach Diego Cocca leads Mexico against the United States, after being appointed manager of El Tri following a disappointing World Cup performance. The Argentine coach is now in the middle of revamping the team, ushering in a generational change and testing out players before the summer's Concacaf tournaments.

Forwards Roberto Alvarado and Henry Martin were forced to drop out of the squad due to muscle tightness, propelling strikers Efrain Alvarez and Edgar Ivan Lopez to take their place.

USMNT vs Mexico score prediction

Both teams will be looking for a good result and it will be difficult. Mexico will head into the match wanting to get a win, and the US will desire to continue its winning ways.

In the end, this game may end in a high-scoring draw. Both sides will give it their all and will want to impress.

The match will probably be very wide-open and susceptible to counterattacks. That said, if that is the case, expect the US and Mexico to score multiple goals, but in the end, no one will be able to get the winner.
