Twitter reacts as Barcelona finally sack Ronald Koeman

Wow, who could have seen this coming, eh?
After a bitter one-and-a-bit year spell in charge of FC Barcelona, Ronald Koeman has finally been sacked.

Yeah, we can't all pretend that we didn't know this was on the verge of happening for ages.
It's one thing being an unpopular Barcelona manager (see: Ernesto Valverde). It's another being unpopular and objectively bad at your job.
But being manager of one of the biggest sporting institutions on this planet brings all sorts of scrutiny.
After a 1-0 loss to Rayo Vallecano, Koeman's position became untenable, and the fans had made their feelings clear...

? ❓ Who is at fault for today's loss? #RayoBarça

If we counted just away games, Barça would be 18th in the league, with one goal scored. [sofascore]

Despite reports out of Spain that Koeman was not under threat of losing his job immediately post-match, pace on the story gathered and just after midnight in Catalonia, Barcelona announced his departure.

Koeman may not have brought happiness or big trophies or good football or any lasting semblance of positivity to Barcelona fans, but he did provide the footballing world with something better - great content.
Koeman brought in Luuk de Jong to Barca ??? funniest guy ever

Just thinking back to when Koeman was Everton manager and he pimped himself out to the Barcelona job every week, only to finally get it at the worst possible time.

Barcelona are hopeful that Xavi will replace Koeman in the dugout. Again, who could have seen that coming?????
Has there ever been a longer buildup to a managerial appointment than Xavi Hernández as coach of Barcelona?
— The Spanish Football Podcast (@tsf_podcast) October 27, 2021
Really hope Xavi, if he comes, has the balls to bench the likes of Pique, Busquets, Roberto, etc when needed — some players he knows very well and has played with during his career, this probably my only concern re his appointment.

But what next for poor Ronald? We're sure he'll land on his feet, don't you worry...
Must be sad for Koeman, obviously, but the blow softened by the fact that he will coach the Netherlands again within 18 months, in accordance with Dutch law

Koeman to Newcatle. Get it done.

Ronald Koeman should not be unemployed for long. There is a club with a track record of hiring managers called Johnny, Ronnie, John, Ron, Ronnie, Ron, Johnny, Ron and Ron. https://t.co/sfvXBL8Qyf
