Say what you want about Sam Allardyce, the man gets results.

For most managers, a trip to Anfield is the stuff of nightmares. Not Big Sam. He once again showed his ability to frustrate the best sides in the Premier League by masterminding a dire West Brom side to a 1-1 draw with the reigning champions.

As per Oliver Trenchard, the draw means that Allardyce has now won more points at Anfield since April 2017 (5) than all of the 'Big Six' teams combined (4). That is some stat.

As if that wasn't impressive enough, over the same timeframe a third of all points won by away teams at Anfield have gained by sides managed by Big Sam.

The allure of Allardyce shows no signs of letting up any time soon. Just take a look at Twitter.

It was not all sunshine and roses for Allardyce during his trip to Anfield though. He was ridiculed on social media for being unable to wear his mask correctly.

His choice to pull the face covering below his nose was even more mysterious, considering Premier League managers do not even have to wear one on the touchline.

In the end, it was a gargantuan point to mark the real return of Allardyce (the Villa defeat doesn't count), who has somehow become the go to man to get a result at Anfield.

Who'd have thunk it?!
