Tottenham team news

Spurs fans will be crossing their fingers to see Harry Kane in action on Sunday. The England captain was the subject of a third bid from Bayern Munich - this one totalling €100m - with the Bundesliga champions keen to finish off negotiations quickly.

On the injury front, Rodrigo Bentancur is still a few months away from returning from his cruciate ligament injury, while Ryan Sessegnon is recovering from hamstring surgery.

Bryan Gil is also sidelined and Dane Scarlett, Fraser Forster and Tanguy Ndombele have all struggled for fitness in recent weeks.

There will be a somewhat awkward reunion for Manor Solomon and his former club. The Israel international left Ukraine for Fulham on loan and was later allowed to unilaterally suspend his contract due to the Russian invasion, which meant Spurs could swoop this summer without having to pay a transfer fee.

Tottenham vs Shakhtar Donetsk score prediction

Spurs have had a somewhat disrupted pre-season, with their game against Leicester completely abandoned and local opposition in Lion City Sailors needed to fill in after Roma pulled out of their tour in Singapore.

Shakhtar are already two games into their 2023/24 Ukrainian Premier League season, taking four points from their opening encounters.

There remains a lot to like about Spurs in an attacking sense but their fragility in defence is still evident, which means we could be in for a goal-fest at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday.

Score prediction: Tottenham 2-2 Shakhtar Donetsk
