Tottenham will look to shake off the disappointment of their second round Carabao Cup exit when they visit Burnley on Saturday afternoon.

Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou made nine changes to his starting XI as a familiar cup exit materialised for the north London side, Davinson Sanchez missing the crucial penalty in a shootout defeat to Fulham after a 1-1 draw in normal time.

With one less competition to compete in this season, Tottenham will revert back to a similar Premier League XI they have deployed in consecutive wins over Manchester United and Bournemouth.

Here's the side Postecoglou may go with.

GK: Guglielmo Vicario - Got a night off on Tuesday when he probably didn't need one but should retain the goalie's jersey for the rest of the season.

RB: Pedro Porro - Being used more in attacking build-up than in the second half of last season, drifting infield to combine with Bissouma and Maddison.

CB: Cristian Romero - Romero's absence against Fulham was telling as Davinson Sanchez struggled to play out from the back. Probably won't miss too many more games, injury dependent.

CB: Micky van de Ven - The young Dutchman scored an own goal at Fulham but his place won't be under threat as a result.

LB: Destiny Udogie - A star in making, Udogie has Spurs fans excited after impressing in the early stages of the season. Picked up an assist for Kulusevski's strike against Bournemouth.

CM: Yves Bissouma - Didn't feature in midweek in a clear indication of his importance for the rest of the season. One of 13 senior club goals he has scored came in a 2-1 win for former club Brighton against Burnley.

CM: Pape Matar Sarr - Has a goal and an assist in the league already, impressing in a box-to-box midfield role. Will soon hold talks with Tottenham over a new and improved contract.

RW: Dejan Kulusevski - Might be looking over his shoulder with stories linking Spurs with transfer targets like Brennan Johnson.

AM: James Maddison - Scored his first goal for Spurs in the win at Bournemouth and has settled quickly in north London.

LW: Son Heung-min - Will hope to get off the mark for the season here. Tottenham's new captain has had five shots in the league so far but only one on target.

ST: Richarlison - Got on the scoresheet at Fulham before taking a knock to his ankle. Better performances are needed soon, with the Brazilian puncturing Tottenham's bright attacking play with poor control and passing at times.
