Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed the signing of Brennan Johnson from Nottingham Forest.

New Spurs head coach Ange Postecoglou has wanted to bring in a new wide forward with pace prior to the end of the transfer window and they have concluded a deal for Wales international Johnson.

The 22-year-old leaves Forest after first joining the club at the age of eight, breaking into their first team and helping them return to the Premier League in 2022.

After courting Johnson for the final few weeks of the summer window, Tottenham agreed a £45m fee with Forest to sign the versatile forward on deadline day.

He then swiftly travelled to London to complete a medical and has now been unveiled as Spurs' newest player prior to the 11pm transfer deadline.

Johnson becomes Tottenham's ninth and final signing of the summer. Dejan Kulusevski and Pedro Porro's loans were made permanent, while Guglielmo Vicario, James Maddison, Manor Solomon, Ashley Phillips, Micky Van de Ven and Alejo Veliz also joined the club.

Despite putting pen to paper before the transfer deadline, Johnson will have to wait until after the international break to make his Tottenham debut after missing the registration cut-off for Saturday's trip to Burnley.

Spurs host Sheffield United in their first game after the September internationals.

Forest, meanwhile, were able to bring in a new winger on deadline day, signing Callum Hudson-Odoi from Chelsea.
