Tottenham are into the fifth round of the FA Cup with an impressive 3-1 victory over Brighton.

Brighton got away with some poor passing at the back when Harry Kane failed to punish Robert Sanchez, but he made no mistake from a similar gift just seconds later as he bent a glorious effort into the top corner.

The first goal was a moment of magic, but the second was more madness. Emerson Royal sent a cross in from the right but his optimistic pass flicked up off Solly March and over the helpless Sanchez, who watched on as it nestled into the back of his net.

It took Brighton a while to get going, but they started to create some chances towards the end of the half. Neal Maupay should have done so much better before the break, but he ballooned his effort over the bar.

Brighton had a bit more energy about them after the break and had a few quick-fire efforts at Hugo Lloris' goal in the early stages. They found their way past the Frenchman on the hour mark, when the excellent Yves Bissouma profited from two deflections to fire home.

Just minutes later, Kane restored Spurs' two-goal advantage. Son's mazy solo run took out so many defenders and was deflected past Sanchez and towards the goal, where Kane lunged to poke it over the line before Brighton could clear their lines.

With things going well, Antonio Conte opted to hand debuts to deadline day signings Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski, both of whom saw around 20 minutes towards the end of the game.

Kulusevski nearly had a debut assist when he squared the ball to Steven Bergwijn, who skied his effort and failed to test Sanchez.

Fortunately for Spurs, they'd done all the hard work by that point and had already done enough to cement their place in the next round.

Hugo Lloris (GK) - 6/10 - Solid when called upon but didn't really have a lot to do.

Cristian Romero (CB) - 8/10 - Looked like he hadn't missed a beat. Really comfortable in the heart of this defence.

Davinson Sanchez (CB) - 7/10 - Relaxed with Romero next to him. Even surprisingly impressive in attack.

Ben Davies (CB) - 7/10 - Bombed down the left all evening. Looks rejuvenated in a back three.

2. Midfielders

Emerson Royal (RM) - 7/10 - No idea what side he was supposed to be playing on. Seemed to be everywhere.

Harry Winks (CM) - 6/10 - Really good on the ball but not so good defensively. Seemed determined to score a worldie.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (CM) - 6/10 - Does the ugly stuff really well.

Sergio Reguilon (LM) - 7/10 - Relentless at making runs. Got forward and overwhelmed Brighton.

3. Forwards

Lucas Moura (RW) - 6/10 - Wanted to get involved with everything but didn't always manage it well. A little rusty.

Harry Kane (ST) - 9/10 - His best performance under Conte. Unstoppable.

Son Heung-min (LW) - 7/10 - Linked up very nicely with Kane but just couldn't get it going in front of goal.

Robert Sanchez (GK) - 5/10 - Could do nothing about the goals but had a few moments of madness. Nearly gifted Kane with one or two.

Adam Webster (CB) - 2/10 - Some awful passing. Must have Kane in his Fantasy Team.

Lewis Dunk (CB) - 4/10 - Forgot Kane was Kane and gifted him acres of space for his opener. Begged the wrong man to shoot.

Marc Cucurella (CB) - 4/10 - Uncomfortable as a centre-back. Absolutely battered by Emerson.

6. Midfielders

Tariq Lamptey (RM) - 5/10 - Got forwards really well but that meant he was out of position too often. Needs to figure out the balance.

Yves Bissouma (CM) - 7/10 - Had some nice moments. Seemed to be involved in everything good for Brighton. Greatly improved after the break.

Adam Lallana (CM) - 4/10 - Offered nothing in the final third. Hooked at half time.

Pascal Groß (CM) - 3/10 - Like Lallana but stayed on longer so the pain was stronger.

Solly March (LM) - 4/10 - Unlucky with the Emerson goal but looks to have lost a yard of pace. Got in Cucurella's way a lot.

Jakub Moder (AM) - 5/10 - Involved in a lot but guilty of far too many poor shots from range. Decision-making needs work.

7. Forward

Moises Caicedo (CM) - 5/10

Danny Welbeck (ST) - 5/10
