TNT Sports has replaced BT Sport for viewers in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland, taking on coverage of the Premier League, Champions League, Europa League and Conference League.

A newly-assembled team of presenters and pundits will host TNT Sports' extensive coverage of live sport.

Laura Woods has been drafted in to host their leading Champions League offerings and will be assisted by Reshmin Chowdhury, while Lindsey Hipgrave will continue to present Premier League matches. Jules Breach will undertake a new broader role leading their Europa League coverage.

Rio Ferdinand, Peter Crouch, Joe Cole, Rachel Brown-Finnis, Owen Hargreaves, Steve McManaman, Joleon Lescott, Michael Owen, Paul Scholes and Robbie Savage will form their rotation of pundits.

Darren Fletcher and Adam Summerton will serve as TNT Sports' lead commentators, with Lucy Ward and Ally McCoist will provide co-commentary.

TNT Sports will be able to stream via discovery+.

The first football fixtures shown on TNT Sports will be this week's Champions League first qualifying round fixtures.

Why has BT Sport been replaced by TNT Sports?

Back in 2022, BT Sport were bought out by Warner Bros Discovery, who also own Eurosport, in a £650m deal.

Andrew Georgiou, president and managing director of Warner Bros Discovery Sports Europe, said: "Today marks the start of our journey to build a new sports destination for fans in the U.K and Ireland. Combining BT Sport and Eurosport U.K. together with Warner Bros Discovery's world-class and growing entertainment offering will result in an exciting new proposition for consumers."

How will this affect BT Sport subscribers?

Existing BT Sport subscribers do not need to take any action as TNT Sports will automatically replace their channels on BT TV, Sky and Virgin Media.

The BT Sport app will show TNT Sports coverage until it is shut down later in 2023. Customers who wish to take on a new premium plan for £29.99 per month will be able to transfer over to the discovery+ app to enjoy further TNT Sports access as well as Eurosport and other content.
