Tim Ream out for the remainder of the season with arm injury

Double dose of bad news for Fulham as manager Marco Silva loses Andreas Pereira and United States international center back Tim Ream in home 2–1 defeat against Manchester City this past Sunday.

"A tough afternoon for us," Silva said. "Both look like really serious injuries so it is a tough moment but we have to keep going, more games to play."

Just minutes after Fulham leveled in the first half with a solid team effort ending in a banger from Brazilian striker Vinicius, Ream went to ground after an awkward tangle with Julián Alvarez – déjà vu from his third minute collision with Alvarez that awarded Man City the go-ahead penalty goal.

Moments later, Ream would leave the field with his arm in a makeshift sling to a standing ovation from the home crowd.

Now confirmed as a season-ending injury, Silva correctly assumed the worst in Ream’s case in a post-match interview with BeIn Sports regarding both injured players, “Tim Ream for sure, unfortunately for us. He has broken his arm. Let's see on Andreas, I hope it is not so serious, but I have to wait for more [information]."

The USMNT has a busy summer ahead with the CONCACAF Nations League final in June and Gold Cup beginning in July lined up. The veteran defenseman’s involvement is now in doubt as fractures usually run in the eight to 12 week span to mend, with even longer periods afterwards for full strength to return.
