The Manchester United team that should start against West Brom

After progressing into the FA Cup quarter-finals in midweek, Manchester United return to Premier League action when they take on West Brom on Sunday afternoon.

The Red Devils currently sit second in the table, five points behind Manchester City having played a game more and on a run of two wins in their last five league fixtures. The recent form could lead to some changes in the side, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is likely to go with a tried and tested team against Sam Allardyce's relegation strugglers.

Here's the lineup that United should start to have the best chance of three points at the weekend.

1. Goalkeeper and defenders

David De Gea (GK) - Some recent poor performances have seen his place his in the team called into question, but expect Solskjaer to stand by his number one.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka (RB) - Despite going off with what looked like cramp in midweek against West Ham, Wan-Bissaka is expected to be fit to start.

Victor Lindelof (CB) - With Eric Bailly still injured, Lindelof's position is safe and he will continue at the heart of the defence.

Harry Maguire (CB) - Set to continue his record of playing in every Premier League game of the season so far.

Luke Shaw (LB) - The best left-back in the league this season, Shaw has earned his spot over Alex Telles.

2. Midfielders

Scott McTominay (CM) - McTominay was called upon when United needed a goal against West Ham and he delivered his third in three games. He will be in from the start this time.

Fred (CM) - With Paul Pogba ruled out for a few weeks with a thigh injury, Solskjaer's midfield decision becomes easier and he will call upon the 'McFred' combo to start.

Bruno Fernandes (AM) - First name on the team sheet, bar none. He's back in decent form after a dry spell too, so West Brom beware.

3. Forwards

Mason Greenwood (RW) - The youngster has returned to the starting lineup and has turned in great performances. He offers balance to the side and should start again.

Edinson Cavani (ST) - Cavani's form has seen him oust Anthony Martial as the starting striker and with a goal in each of his last two starts, he'll get the nod again.

Marcus Rashford (LW) - The winger with the most goal involvements in Europe's top five leagues this season is Marcus Rashford - he has to start in order to break down the West Brom defence.
