Here we are. We've covered the best players to sign in every position on Football Manager 2022, and now we're at the big one. It's time for the striker.

A good striker can be the difference between success and failure. A lethal hitman can take a team to the next level, save a struggling team from relegation or turn a good side into a great one. It's one position you don't want to skimp out on.

Come on then, let's get into it. Regardless of what budget you're working with, here are the strikers you need to be signing.

Cheap options

Eran Zahavi
PSV

£2.7m is a steal for Zahavi, who usually finds his way into a major league on FM22. He's 33 and should only be viewed as a short-term solution, but for that job, you won't find many better.

Marko Livaja
Hajduk

A striker/playmaker hybrid, Livaja has some gorgeous stats which make him a great option for an advanced forward. His £6m asking price is more than reasonable for a top-flight side.

Diego Costa
Free agent

You won't find many better bargains on FM22 than Costa, who is a top-tier striker sat waiting around for a new club. Some heavy hitters usually try and bring him in quickly so don't waste time on this one.

Burak Yilmaz
LOSC

As far as pure goalscorers go, Yilmaz is up there. He's got 17 finishing and 15 composure, as well as a surprising 15 pace for somebody who is about to turn 36. You can have all that for £825,000.

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting
FC Bayern

A regular on these lists this year, Choupo-Moting's £2.5m asking price is just too good to ignore.

Andrea Petagna
Napoli

Petagna is one of the better strikers you'll find in this price range, but importantly, he's just 26 years old and is therefore one of the only candidates who will offer you any sort of resale value or longevity. For £4.7m, the target man can be yours.

Gonzalo Higuain
Inter Miami

Higuain is a better striker than Petagna and is available for a little cheaper at £3.1m, but he's about to turn 34. If that's not a problem for you, he's the man you should be moving for in this bracket.

Raul Garcia
A. Bilbao

The same goes for Garcia, who is approaching 35. He's yours at £2.7m.

Julio Furch
Atlas

A nice pressing forward or target man, Furch's 15 finishing and 15 strength will translate in any division. He comes with a £5.5m price tag.

Alvaro Negredo
Cadiz

Finishing the list off is veteran Negredo, who is available to pick up for £1.1m.

Reasonable options

Zlatan Ibrahimovic
Milan

Ibrahimovic is still one of the game's top strikers but is obviously coming towards the end of his career, but Milan know that and will sell him for £5m. It's a similar situation for Olivier Giroud, who comes with a £6.5m price tag.

Mariano
R. Madrid

The 27-year-old needs to leave Madrid to show what he can do, and with 17 finishing and 17 heading, he will score goals anywhere. His price is a reasonable £9.5m.

Gabriel Barbosa
FLA

This one's a bit of a steal. Gabigol is 24 and has some impressive potential, but even if he doesn't grow, he's still a top-tier striker for the next decade, which will justify the £12.5m spend.

Dries Mertens
Napoli

As far as value for money goes, Mertens at £3.3m is nuts. His wage demands are a bit lofty but considering how cheap he is to sign, that shouldn't be a problem.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
Barcelona

Earning peanuts at Barcelona these days, Aubameyang is a good signing once again. With an asking price of £14m, he's one to consider.

Joaquin Correa

Joaquin Correa
Inter

Correa is really good. Why Inter will sell him to you for as little as £18m is anyone's guess. He's tall, yet incredibly agile and his 17 dribbling and 16 first touch will leave a lot of defenders in the dust.

Martin Braithwaite
Barcelona

On the transfer list at Barcelona, Braithwaite is available for a cool £7.25m. His finishing stats aren't the best but he'd still make an excellent pressing forward and could be used well in a two-man attack.

Edinson Cavani
Man UFC

A prolific goalscorer, the ageing Cavani can be yours for £6.5m and some sizeable wages.

Boulaye Dia
Villarreal

17 pace, 15 finishing and 14 strength for Dia, who looks like a smart buy at just £12m.

Andrea Belotti
Torino

An expiring contract means the excellent Belotti is available for £18.5m when the game starts. If he signs an extension, that value with double and a lot of teams try to move quickly to sign him before it does.

Expensive options

Luis Suarez
A. Madrid

One of the best strikers on the game, £15m will get you a good season or two out of 34-year-old Suarez, who will need some massive wages to convince him to leave Madrid.

Jamie Vardy
Leicester

Vardy remains an elite Premier League striker but can be snapped up for as little as £25m. He's 34, so you need to factor that in, but he'll score goals for a little while longer.

Erling Haaland
Borussia Dortmund

Most teams don't have a spare £99.5m lying around, but if you do, get Haaland. He'll shatter scoring records for the next 15 years and will see his value jump to closer to £300m soon enough. The start of the game could be your only chance to get him. As a bonus, young Youssoufa Moukoko will cost you £42m now and £420m in about five years.

Diogo Jota
Liverpool

He's been on a lot of these lists already, and that's because £50m for Jota is an absolute bargain.

Maxi Gomez
Valencia

An elite finisher at 24 years old, Gomez is a smart buy at £28m. There's plenty of room left for him to grow into an all-time great as well.

Duvan Zapata
Atalanta

Zapata is a goal machine with some absurd stats, the most notable of which are 19 strength, 18 finishing, 17 pace and 16 heading. He'll set you back £44m which, compared to a lot of strikers with his ability, is a real bargain.

Luis Muriel
Atalanta

Muriel's stats are nuts. There are 18s and 17s where you want them to be, guaranteeing he'll score goals in nearly any setup. To make this even sweeter, his price is £41m and his wage demands aren't even that high.

Andre Silva
RB Leipzig

A reliable goalscorer, Silva's price tag of £24m is very easy on the pockets. He could start for any team looking for a new star up front.

Angel Correa
A. Madrid

Correa is more of a winger or a playmaker, but he can do a real job up front as well. That versatility will cost you £47m.

Domenico Berardi
Sassuolo

Similarly, Berardi is an excellent winger who knows how to score goals in a central role too. He comes in a little cheaper than Correa at £38m.
