Spain 0-0 Sweden: Player ratings as both sides miss glorious chances to win it
Spain and Sweden played out the first 0-0 draw of Euro 2020, even though both sides had clear chances to get on the score-sheet and win the game.
Spain completely dominated possession, which was to be expected, with individual Spanish players making more passes each in the first half than the entire Sweden team combined.
But the chances that had been created in the first half largely dried up after the break until the closing stages and Sweden had the best opportunity of the whole game when Marcus Berg somehow missed the target from close range.
Alexander Isak also saw an effort deflected onto the post shortly before half-time.
For Spain, Alvaro Morata was particularly guilty of wasting a very good chance when he was put through by a rare Swedish mistake at the back.

Spain
1. Goalkeeper & defenders
Unai Simon (GK) 6/10: Largely a spectator but responded well when he was called upon.
Marcos Llorente (RB) 6/10: Tasked with filling in at right-back and pulled off a vital goal-line block shortly before half-time. Poor delivery when he got forward.
Pau Torres (CB) 6/10: Rarely under real pressure because of Spain’s dominance of the ball.
Aymeric Laporte (CB) 5/10: Not the most challenging night overall but gave up chances when Sweden had the ball in dangerous areas.
Jordi Alba (LB) 6/10: Always willing to burst forward on the left flank.
2. Midfielders
Pedri (CM) 7/10: The 18-year-old looked comfortable and at ease as he became Spain’s youngest ever player in a European Championship game.
Rodri (CM) 6/10: Always in control in the centre of the pitch. Withdrawn relatively early in favour of more creativity.
Koke (CM) 6/10: Regularly burst forward in the first half.
3. Forwards
Ferran Torres (RW) 5/10: Moved to a more central position midway through the second half, although he didn’t last long in that role before being replaced.
Alvaro Morata (ST) 5/10: Worked hard off the ball to press from the front on the rare occasions Spain didn’t have possession. Should have scored.
Dani Olmo (LW) 6/10: Unlucky to see an early chance well saved and always posed a threat until he was withdrawn.

5. Goalkeeper & defenders
Robin Olsen (GK) 7/10: Strong early save to deny an Olmo header. Made other saves and interventions, especially late on to stop substitute Moreno.
Mikael Lustig (RB) 6/10: Injured in the second half to cut short a solid display.
Victor Lindelof (CB) 7/10: Stayed organised and kept his concentration to keep the clean sheet.
Marcus Danielson (CB) 7/10: Got away with a glaring first half error that gifted a chance to Morata, but it was an isolated blot on an otherwise very strong night.
Ludwig Augustinsson (LB) 6/10: Another who had to remain focused until the final seconds.
6. Midfielders
Sebastian Larsson (RM) 6/10: Attacking output had to curtailed in favour of defensive protection.
Kristoffer Olsson (CM) 7/10: Disciplined and tireless performance to keep Sweden in it.
Albin Ekdal (CM) 6/10: Solid throughout, despite being outnumbered in the middle of the pitch against Spain's three midfielders.
Emil Forsberg (LM) 5/10: Found it tough to find any sort of creative rhythm.
7. Forwards
Marcus Berg (ST) 5/10: Largely starved of the ball, but when his chance to put Sweden ahead did come he skewed the ball wide from inside the six-yard box.
Alexander Isak (ST) 7/10: Saw an effort deflected against the post and looked dangerous with excellent footwork and close control when the ball reached him in good areas.
