In-form Southampton host West Ham on Wednesday night in one of the FA Cup fifth round's all-Premier League ties.

The pair last met on Boxing Day at the London Stadium, when Saints edged out their hosts 3-2 thanks to strikes from Mohamed Elyounoussi, James Ward-Prowse and Jan Bednarek. Michail Antonio and Said Benrahma struck for the Hammers that day.

Both teams needed extra-time to get through the fourth round against lower-league opposition, with West Ham nearly being humiliated by Kidderminster Harriers. Meanwhile, the Saints narrowly defeated second-tier Coventry City.

Southampton team news & predicted lineup

West Ham team news & predicted lineup

West Ham's thin squad is being stretched at the moment, particularly in defence. Vladimir Coufal, Arthur Masuaku and Angelo Ogbonna remain out for this one, while Ryan Fredericks faces a fitness test on a groin issue.

Andriy Yarmolenko is back in training after being granted time off following Russia's invasion of his homeland, but David Moyes stressed that he would not rush the forward back into action.

West Ham predicted lineup vs Southampton: Areola; Johnson, Dawson, Zouma, Cresswell; Rice, Soucek; Bowen, Fornals, Benrahma; Antonio

Southampton vs West Ham score prediction

This has all the makings of a terrific cup tie. Both sides are in decent form and it's been a long time since either lifted this famous old trophy.

A passionate home crowd will gives Saints a boost and Ralph Hasehuttl's side have had slightly more rest as they last played on Friday. Saying that, you can never rule out West Ham, especially after their hard-fought win over Wolves this weekend.

This one is too close to call and, with no replays, could go the distance.

Prediction: Southampton 2-2 West Ham - Southampton to win on penalties
