Sir Jim Ratcliffe will be among the Old Trafford crowd on Sunday to watch Manchester United take on Tottenham Hotspur.

Ratcliffe has struck a deal to buy a 25% stake in the Red Devils and is awaiting final approval from the Premier League - a process which is expected to take several more weeks.

While he waits for the deal to go through, Ratcliffe has kept a close eye on United through INEOS associate Sir Dave Brailsford, who has been in the stands for games. Brailsford will take a seat on the new board of directors once the transaction is formally completed.

As noted by Ben Jacobs, Ratcliffe will make his first appearance at Old Trafford on Sunday for the huge clash with Tottenham.

United enter the game ninth in the Premier League, having fallen behind Chelsea on goal difference. They are eight points behind Tottenham, who sit fifth and could end the weekend in the top four with a victory.

Ratcliffe is expected to speak publicly in the coming weeks, with fans eager to hear from the man who will be in charge of football proceedings at Old Trafford.

United manager Erik ten Hag recently heaped praise on Ratcliffe and his plans for the club, saying: "It is an inspiration. Everyone is optimistic.

"There is a lot of work to do. We've had a lot of setbacks and I think in the summer we were in a good way but it is a journey, it is a project and now we have to deal with some setbacks but we will keep alive, survive it and strike back."
