Ryan Gravenberch reserved special praise for a fellow new signing when asked which Liverpool player has surprised him the most so far this season.

The Netherlands international was one of four midfielders brought to Anfield during the summer transfer window, completing his move to Merseyside on deadline day for £34.2m.

Gravenberch is yet to make a Premier League start for Liverpool, though has come off the bench four times.

He has started two Europa League games, scoring against Union Saint-Gilloise and assisting against LASK. In the Carabao Cup, he registered an assist at home to Leicester City during 65 minutes of action.

While Gravenberch is still bedding in at Liverpool, his new teammate, Dominik Szoboszlai, is already proving a popular figure at the club.

As part of a Reddit AMA with Sky Sports, Gravenberch was asked which teammate has surprised him in training or in matches.

"I think it was Dom Szoboszlai," Gravenberch replied. "Because this guy's shot is...I think you saw it yesterday, it's crazy!

"Also sometimes in training, sometimes we shoot after training and it's like 'one, two, three', they go all in. Crazy things. So I think it's Dom with his shot."

Szoboszlai, who joined from RB Leipzig for £60m at the start of July, has scored twice in 11 games for Liverpool so far this season, with both goals coming from distance. The Hungary international has been praised for his physicality and precise ball-striking since swapping the Bundesliga for the Premier League

Gravenberch was also asked who he thought the funniest member of the Liverpool squad was, pointing to Andy Robertson, who commented, 'finally, a good Dutch player' upon the midfielder's arrival from Bayern Munich.

"I think I'll go for Robbo...'a good Dutch player'! He makes a lot of jokes," Gravenberch added.
