Ryan Giggs and the Football Association of Wales have mutually agreed that the manager will not be involved in the Wales camp for their three upcoming international fixtures.

The Wales manager is currently on bail after being arrested on suspicion of assault and actual bodily harm in November. Giggs denies the allegations.

Robert Page took charge of November's victories over the Republic of Ireland and Finland, and will do the same again during the March international break as Wales face a triple-header of fixtures against Belgium, Mexico and the Czech Republic.

“The Football Association of Wales and Ryan Giggs have mutually agreed that he will not be involved in the upcoming international camp," an FAW statement read.

"Robert Page will take charge for the next three matches against Belgium, Mexico and the Czech Republic and will be supported by Albert Stuivenberg as was the case during the last international window in November. The Cymru squad for these upcoming matches will be announced on Monday 15th March."

Giggs' bail was extended until May following his November arrest.

“A 46-year-old man [now aged 47] arrested on suspicion of section 39 common assault and section 47 assault in November 2020 has had his bail extended until Saturday 1 May 2021," a statement released by Greater Manchester Police in February read (via the Guardian).

"This relates to an incident reported to police at 10.05pm on Sunday 1 November on Chatsworth Road, Worsley. A file remains with the CPS and a decision is expected in due course.”

The former Manchester United winger's Wales contract expires after the 2022 World Cup, and his country are due to start their European Championship campaign on 12 June with a group stage fixture against Switzerland.

A statement released by Giggs following his arrest (via Sky Sports) read: "Mr Giggs denies all allegations of assault made against him. He is co-operating with the police and will continue to assist them with their ongoing investigations."
