Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen will remain at the club until at least the summer, according to reports, amid transfer links with Galatasaray.

The 31-year-old isn't guaranteed a starting place in Erik ten Hag's midfield, with the emergence of Kobbie Mainoo likely to further restrict the Danish international's minutes moving forward.

Eriksen has played 15 times in the Premier League this season, totalling 845 minutes, but has been a starter on just nine occasions. He has completed the full 90 minutes just five times, with three of those games resulting in defeats for United.

Turkish giants Galatasaray, who can sign players until Friday 9 February because of a variation in transfer window dates, have been linked with a move for Eriksen in recent days - owing to his dwindling appearances - but Sky Sports News report that he will not be leaving Old Trafford before the end of the season.

Former Tottenham, Inter and Brentford midfielder Eriksen is said to be happy with his role at United and is focused on the rest of the campaign, though the report doesn't go as far as to rule out a switch in the summer, by which time Eriksen will have just one year remaining on his contract.

Eriksen was Ten Hag's second signing after he was appointed United boss prior to the 2022/23 season, penning a three-year contract after a short stint at Brentford.

His move followed a remarkable comeback following a cardiac arrest while playing for Denmark at Euro 2020. Eriksen received urgent medical attention on the pitch, including CPR and defibrillation, and he was subsequently stabilised in hospital before being fitted with an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator - a device that monitors the rate and rhythm of the heart, providing electrical shocks if the heart stops functioning as normal.

He returned to action eight months after the incident, having joined Brentford on a short-term deal after his contract at Serie A giants Inter was terminated.
