Arsenal forward Reiss Nelson has won the 2022/23 Premier League Castrol Game Changer of the Season award thanks to his late winner against Bournemouth.

The Premier League Castrol Game Changer of the Season award is given to the player with the single most game-changing performance over the course of the campaign, with Ilkay Gundogan winning it in 2021/22.

Nelson have become the latest winner of the coveted award thanks to his stunning 97th minute goal against Bournemouth in the midst of Arsenal's title challenge.

The Gunners completed a remarkable, and thoroughly dramatic, comeback against Bournemouth at the Emirates Stadium on 4 March, coming from two goals behind to eventually win thanks to Nelson -with his arrowed effort from the left of the box flying straight into the far top corner to send Arsenal fans into raptures.

Speaking after scoring the famous goal, Nelson said: "It's amazing. "When the ball came out to me I eyed it up. Everyone went crazy when it went in.

"It's a great moment for me. I have been here all my life and it means a lot to me. I'm just happy. I'm delighted."

The goal, at the time, kept Arsenal well on track to dethrone Manchester City atop of the Premier League and, although that ultimately didn't happen, the goal at least provided fans at the Emirates Stadium with one of the great moments in recent memory.

"It was probably the loudest and most-emotional moment we have lived together," said Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta about Nelson's goal. "The journey that we've been on together and how the supporters and team are together, adding the important moment we had today, it was very special."

Nelson has since signed a new four-year contract at his boyhood club, with Arsenal fans hoping the 23-year-old can provide similarly remarkable moments in the coming seasons.
