Erling Haaland's lightning start to life at Manchester City shows no sign of stopping.

The Norway international has no shortage of quality around him to continue scoring at a terrific rate as Pep Guardiola's side target more success in the Premier League and a maiden Champions League crown.

Here are a handful of the records he could smash while he's at City.

What records can Erling Haaland break at Manchester City?

Highest scoring Manchester City player in a season

The highest scoring season by a Manchester City player came all the way back in 1928/29, when the legendary Tommy Johnson netted 38 strikes in the old First Division.

In more recent years, it's been Sergio Aguero hoarding all the goal records at the Etihad. The Argentine's best return came in 2016/17, when he scored 33 in all competitions. His best Premier League season saw him score 26 goals, which is City's Premier League record.

Most hat-tricks in a Premier League season

Haaland became the first player ever to score three consecutive Premier League home hat tricks when he struck thrice in the Manchester derby victory in October, having already battered both Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest. Only five other players - Les Ferdinand, Ian Wright, Didier Drogba, Wayne Rooney and Harry Kane - have previously nettled trebles in consecutive league matches.

The Norwegian is barely into his City career but is already eyeing up the Premier League hat-trick record currently held by Sergio Aguero.

The former City striker netted 12 hat tricks during his time at the Etihad and tops a star-studded leaderboard which sees Alan Shearer in second with 11 and Robbie Fowler in third with nine. Current players Harry Kane, Raheem Sterling and Mohamed Salah are all ahead of Haaland in the standings.

Most goals in a 38-game Premier League season

The most goals scored to win a Premier League Golden Boot is tied jointly by Andy Cole and Alan Shearer, who netted 34 each in the 1993/94 and 1994/95 seasons respectively. However, those feats were achieved when the league was a 42-game season.

Since it has been shrunk down to 38 matches, the record for most goals in a Premier League season is 32, which is currently held by Mohamed Salah for his 2017/18 campaign with Liverpool.

Longest goalscoring streak in Premier League

Jamie Vardy famously shattered Ruud van Nistelrooy's consecutive scoring record during the 2015/16 season when he led Leicester to the Premier League title.

He netted in 11 straight appearances, scoring 13 goals in total, so Haaland will have to be at his clinical best to match or improve that record. However, don't rule it out - as of early October, he's scored in six consecutive league games.

Most goals in a debut season from an overseas player

Adjusting to the Premier League's competitiveness and pace has not always been easy over the years. Many big-money signings have travelled to England and left again having failed to make the desired impact.

However, players like Diego Costa, Jurgen Klinsmann and Sergio Aguero all netted over 20 league goals in their first Premier League seasons. It's Fernando Torres who holds the record for most goals in a debut season from an overseas player with 24, achieved in 2007/08 with Liverpool.

All-time Premier League goalscorer

We're at the very beginning of Haaland's journey with City, but his goalscoring rate is so incredibly good right now it would be amiss to rule him out of the all-time Premier League scoring rankings.

Alan Shearer is the leading scorer right now thanks to the 260 goals he scored with Blackburn and Newcastle, so Haaland is some way away from reaching that figure, and other current stars like Harry Kane, Jamie Vardy and Mohamed Salah are many miles ahead in the standings.

However, whenever Haaland's time at City comes to an end, there's no doubting he'll be near the top of the standings.

All-time Champions League goalscorer

In the same vein, Haaland is a proven scorer in the Champions League and his rate of goals makes it likely he'll be among the best strikers in the competition's history.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been grappling with Lionel Messi to be the all-time UCL scorer and currently leads his Argentine rival by 140 goals to 125.
