Real Salt Lake have completed the trade of Danny Musovski from LAFC in exchange for $250k in General Allocation Money (GAM).

$150k of the fee will go straight to LAFC in 2022, with the remaining $100k to be paid next year. RSL will also pay additional GAM should Musovski hit certain performance markers.

“We are excited to add a dynamic striker in Danny who provides an additional goal-scoring threat on our roster and fits into our style of play,” RSL technical director Kurt Schmid said in a club press release. “We’ve monitored him closely since his days in college, and we are excited to be able to integrate him as we enter an important phase of our season.”

Musovski leaves LAFC after making 61 senior appearances for the Black and Gold across all competitions, scoring 13 goals and assisting another six. With Cristian Arango in red-hot form, games were becoming hard to find through the middle for Musovski, who also faced increasing competition out wide from Gareth Bale, Carlos Vela, Brian Rodriguez, and Kwadwo Opoku.

“We want to thank Danny for his many contributions to the club since he arrived in Los Angeles,” LAFC co-president and general manager John Thorrington said. “He has proven himself to be a reliable player in our league, played in many big games, and scored some important goals for LAFC. We wish Danny all the best in this next step of his career.”

RSL currently sit fifth in the Western Conference with a two-point gap keeping them above the MLS Cup Playoffs line. Musovski could actually make his debut for his new club against LAFC this Saturday.
