Real Madrid were held to a 2-2 draw by Mexican side Club America and remain without a win on their summer tour of the US.

Los Blancos were beaten 1-0 by rivals Barcelona in Las Vegas at the weekend and continued their winless start to pre-season with a stalemate in San Francisco.

Club America took a sixth-minute lead when Miguel Layun's shot fell into Henry Martin's path, and he managed to quickly evade Antonio Rudiger and beat Andriy Lunin at the far post.

Carlo Ancelotti's men found a leveller midway through the first half after Karim Benzema played a neat one-two with Marco Asensio and fired past Guillermo Ochoa from 20 yards out with a sumptuous curled effort.

Benzema nearly doubled his tally soon after but his thunderous strike whistled past the post, while Rudiger headed just wide from a lofty corner.

Real Madrid were awarded a second-half penalty when Lucas Vazquez was brought down by Salvador Reyes, and Eden Hazard's spot kick just about squeezed under substitute goalkeeper Oscar Jimenez.

Dani Ceballos should have added a third but was denied by Jimenez at the near post, and the veteran stopper was at full stretch to push away Aurelien Tchouameni's rocket.

Club America were handed a penalty of their own when Vinicius Tobias tripped Alvaro Fidalgo, who made no mistake from 12 yards as the Liga MX outfit earned a draw.
