PSG's Qatari owners considering investment in Leeds United

Leeds United are again being considered as a potential club to invest in by PSG's owners Qatar Sports Investments, 90min understands.

The Whites are currently owned by Italian media mogul Andrea Radrizzani, who took charge in 2017 and oversaw their promotion back to the Premier League.

However, Radrizzani agreed a deal with the investment arm of NFL side San Francisco 49ers to sell an initial 44% stake, while also giving them an option to purchase the club up until 2024.

The 49ers were not the first investor to talk with Radrizzani as he also spoke to Nasser Al-Khelaifi, the president of Paris Saint-Germain and chairman of Qatar Sports Investments, before he agreed to sell to the Americans.

Now, 90min understands that QSI are again looking to invest in the Premier League and are assessing their options in England, which include Tottenham Hotspur.

But one club they remain keen on is Leeds and they are believed to have touched base with the club about the situation at Elland Road.

While the 49ers do have a purchase agreement in place, they have not yet activated their option to buy, and that could tempt QSI to make a bid to take charge at Elland Road.

QSI have always believed that Leeds represent one of the best investment opportunities in the Premier League, and that remains the case despite holding a meeting with Tottenham in recent weeks.

They are expected to meet with club others too as they look to expand and continue investing - QSI already hold a 21.6% stake in Portuguese side Braga.
