PSG predicted lineup vs Saint-Etienne - Ligue 1

Paris Saint-Germain travel to Saint-Etienne on Sunday afternoon, aiming to put a disappointing Champions League night behind them.

Mauricio Pochettino's men let a 1-0 lead slip to lose 2-1 at Manchester City on Wednesday, sealing a second place finish in Group A. They do, however, go into Sunday's clash in stunning domestic form, currently topping the Ligue 1 table with an 11-point cushion.

Having won 12 of their 14 opening games, an eighth Ligue 1 crown in ten years seems an inevitability. Facing the wrath of their attacking genius on Sunday are a Saint-Etienne side in serious danger of ending an 18-year stay on the French top flight. Claude Puel's men currently sit 19th in the table, although have found form of late, not losing in four and winning their previous two.

Here's who Pochettino could field to get another win this weekend.

1. Goalkeeper & defenders

Gianluigi Donnarumma (GK) - Having seen red against Nantes in PSG's last domestic outing, Keylor Navas is suspended for this one, giving Pochettino an easy choice between the sticks.

Achraf Hakimi (RB) - Has missed just one game all season for his side, proving a crucial threat as expected. Will look to build on his five goal involvements on Sunday.

Marquinhos (CB) - Was excellent at the Etihad, and will certainly continue to skipper the side at the heart of Pochettino's defence.

Presenel Kimpembe (CB) - Sergio Ramos is now in the running to take a spot in the Parisian back line, although Kimpembe's performances for the majority of the campaign really haven't left the door open.

Nuno Mendes (LB) - Put in another very bright performance in the Champions League this week and deserves another start to showcase his attacking flair from full-back.

2. Midfielders

Leandro Paredes (CM) - Was very solid as the anchor against City on Wednesday, and should continue for the trip to Saint-Etienne.

Idrissa Gueye (CM) - Wasn't at his best in midweek although, with the injury problems facing the side in central midfield, Pochettino's hand could be somewhat forced with his selection.

Lionel Messi (AM) - Finally scored in Ligue 1 last time out, and should be given a free-roaming role behind the striker to try and build on that against a fairly stable Saint-Etienne back line.

3. Forwards

Angel Di Maria (RW) - Didn't manage to find a breakthrough after coming on against City, but should be able to create something on Sunday.

Kylian Mbappe (ST) - In absolutely incredible form at the moment, with 11 goals and eight assists in his last ten for club and country. He's really hit another level in the past couple of months - there's no way he doesn't start.

Neymar (LW) - Things aren't going well for the Brazilian this campaign, having registered just three goals and three assists so far - okay, it's not calamitous but, comparatively, that's not great. This is his cue to bag a hat-trick on Sunday.
