Paris Saint-Germain made life incredibly hard from themselves as they were forced to come from behind to seal a thoroughly unconvincing 2-1 win over Lille at the Parc des Princes.

The visitors almost took the lead immediately after kick-off, with Burak Yilmaz's counter-attack drawing an outstanding save from Gianluigi Donnarumma after just a few seconds.

The visitors remained on top in the early stages, with PSG taking an eternity to really get going, and after a few sloppy strikes on goal, they finally got the lead they deserved as top scorer Jonathan David finished off a glorious team goal by tapping home from close range on the half-hour mark.

Angel Di Maria had PSG's best chance of the first half, but the Argentine couldn't convert from a narrow angle as the Parisians went into the break 1-0 down.

Mauricio Pochettino's answer was a shift to a 4-2-3-1 system, with Mauro Icardi coming off the bench to replace Lionel Messi in attack, and that did bring a noticeable increase in energy from PSG.

The pressure slowly began to ramp up and PSG eventually bagged an equaliser through the excellent Marquinhos, who thumped home from close range with 20 minutes to go.

PSG pressed and pressed and pressed for a winner, and with just two minutes left on the clock, Di Maria found it, finishing off an excellent move to save to day for the Parisians.

PSG player ratings vs Lille

1. Goalkeeper & defenders

Gianluigi Donnarumma (GK) - 7/10 - Made a huge save to deny Yilmaz within seconds and continued to make some excellent stops. Ensured PSG didn't go four or five down.

Thilo Kehrer (RB) - 2/10 - He wants to be a centre-back, and with performances like this, every fan will want that too. Absolutely torched by Lille's forwards all night.

Marquinhos (CB) - 7/10 - The only player who actually wanted to step up to Yilmaz and David. Stepped up and provided the goal when needed.

Presnel Kimpembe (CB) - 4/10 - Stood by and watched as David took a whole five seconds to set himself up for the opener. Had so much time to stop it but decided against it.

Juan Bernat (LB) - 2/10 - Lucky not to be responsible for two or three goals on his first start in almost a year. Nuno Mendes' spot in the squad is safe.

2. Midfielders

Danilo Pereira (DM) - 4/10 - Completely dominated in the midfield battle. Renato Sanches had him on toast.

Georginio Wijnaldum (CM) - 2/10 - Just didn't do anything. Didn't link up in attack, didn't cover in defence and offered nothing in the midfield battle. Somehow part of a midfield trio that couldn't deal with Lille's two.

Idrissa Gueye (CM) - 4/10 - Had the job of being the main midfield creator, which tells you how bad it was. Was trying to dribble past everybody but obviously isn't particularly good at that.

3. Forwards

Angel Di Maria (RW) - 7/10 - PSG's biggest goal threat (barely a compliment). A different class in the second half and saved the day with a glorious finish.

Lionel Messi (ST) - 1/10 - Hooked at half-time after an atrocious first 45. Scuffed some awful shots and didn't even complete a single dribble. Barely looked interested.

Neymar (LW) - 4/10 - Got pretty much everything wrong for the first 70 minutes but was involved in the first goal and played a brilliant pass for the winner.

4. Substitutes

Mauro Icardi (ST) - 5/10 - Took an age to actually get his first touch but made a significant difference when on the pitch. Moved about enough to unsettle Lille's defenders. Missed a late sitter.

Nuno Mendes (LB) - 6/10 - Pressed forwards more than Bernat and added some extra threat down the left.

Colin Dagba (RB) - 6/10 - A significant improvement over Kehrer.

Julian Draxler (AM) - N/A - Saw five minutes at the end of the game.

Ander Herrera (CM) - N/A - Replaced Di Maria in garbage time.
