Your WSL nominees for January are...

Clean Sheets: 2

Manchester United full-back Ona Batlle again showed her outstanding levels at both ends of the pitch in January.

United were back to keeping clean sheets throughout the month, keeping potentially tricky Liverpool and Reading sides at bay across both games.

The Spaniard was on fire going forward in the 6-0 thrashing of Liverpool, assisting two of her team's first half goals, as well as creating six chances overall. She was slightly quieter against Reading, but as she became more involved, United began to turn the screw more to win it late on.

2. Kenza Dali (Aston Villa)

Appearances: 2
Goals: 1

Now at her third WSL club after spells at West Ham and Everton, Kenza Dali is having the best season yet since arriving in England in 2019.

The France international has brought an additional class to current side Aston Villa and scored the crucial equaliser in what turned out to be a comeback win over Tottenham.

But it also needed a different kind of performance off the ball a week later as Villa took points off Manchester City for the second time this season.

3. Gabby George (Everton)

Everton captain Gabby George was on fire in January as the Toffees extended a winning run they had started in December to three games.

George and co. won both games they played during the month, with the left-back playing a key role in an attacking sense in a 3-2 win over Reading. She assisted the opener and then scored what later proved to be the winner.

A clean sheet for Everton followed against West Ham in another comprehensive performance, with George winning her tackles and snuffing things out down her side of the defence.

4. Maya Le Tissier (Man Utd)

Appearances: 2
Clean sheets: 2

Maya Le Tissier continued her sensational debut season with Manchester United across the month of January, helping the joint best defence in the WSL record two more clean sheets in their two games.

The 20-year-old plays with a maturity that belies her age, always looking calm and in control at the back, which was on display against both Liverpool and Reading as United won twice.

Le Tissier has an excellent range of passing, but she also reads the game so well to always be in the right place at the right time and rarely has to make any last-ditch tackles or desperate lunges.

5. Jess Park (Everton)

On-loan winger Jess Park was a huge part of Everton's perfect January, contributing significantly to their wins over Reading and West Ham.

The 21-year-old is always a creative spark and good attacking outlet, finding the net in the 3-2 victory against Reading, as well as creating other chances for teammates during that game.

A week later she provided the early assist for Everton to get the ball rolling against West Ham in a much more comfortable 3-0 win.

6. Khadija Shaw (Man City)

Appearances: 2
Goals: 1
Assists: 1

Khadija Shaw had a hand in Manchester City goals in both of their January games to underline her status as one of the most effective strikers in the WSL - her consistent output has softened the blow of losing Ellen White.

In pursuit of the Golden Boot, Shaw grabbed her ninth league goal of the season to secure a narrow 1-0 victory over West Ham.

City couldn't make it consecutive wins when Aston Villa held them to a draw. But it wasn't for the lack of trying, with Shaw assisting her team's only goal and banging at the door to get one of her own.
