90min is the home of the PFA Vertu Motors Fans’ Player of the Month Award for the 2022/23 season.

Each month, you can vote for your favourite players across five divisions of English football, for the chance to win incredible prizes, including the opportunity to present the award to the winning player.

Your League Two nominees for January are...


1. Kristian Dennis (Carlisle United)

Another great month from Carlisle forward Kristian Dennis with five goals and two assists.

He began 2023 with a goal against Doncaster, before following that up with a goal and assist in the 2-1 win over Newport.

Two goals against rivals Hartlepool then arrived, before a crucial assist in the 1-0 win over Rochdale and a strike in the 5-1 derby demolition of Barrow.

2. Junior Tchamadeu (Colchester United)

The Colchester right-back had a great January, two goals and a clean sheet helped them to four wins.

He started the New Year in great fashion with goals in the wins over Harrogate and Rochdale.

Tchamadeu also helped The Us claim a cleansheet against Swindon as they moved away from the drop-zone.

3. Tom Nichols (Gillingham)

New Gills signing Tom Nichols didn't take long to settle into life with his new club as he claimed three goals and two assists.

Nichols scored and claimed an assist on his Gills in the 2-0 win over Hartlepool.

He followed that up with a goal in the 2-0 victory at Colchester before claiming another goal and assist combo in the impressive 3-3 draw at Swindon.

4. Josh Umerah (Hartlepool United)

Josh Umerah is doing everything he can to help keep Hartlepool up - that includes three more goals in January.

Umerah opened his account for 2023 on New Year's day in the 3-3 draw with Harrogate.

He claimed a crucial strike in the 2-0 win over Rochdale before also finding the next in the defeat at Carlisle.

5. Conor McAleny (Salford City)

An improved January from Salford and McAleny played a huge part in that helping himself to six goals.

Nobody started the year better than McAleny as all his goals came in his first four games starting with a brace at Bradford before a crucial strike in the win over Northampton.

He claimed both goals in the 2-0 win over Sutton before again finding the net in the 1-1 draw at Colchester.

6. Carl Piergianni (Stevenage)

A great month for Stevenage including a big FA Cup win - whilst in the league their captain Carl Piergianni claimed two goals and a clean sheet as they went undefeated.

The year began well with a goal and clean sheet against Gillingham before their famous cup shock at Aston Villa.

He claimed a crucial goal in the 1-1 draw with Harrogate before a crucial clean sheet arrived in the massive 3-0 win over title rivals Leyton Orient.
