Despite it only being March, Aleksandar Mitrovic has now broken the Championship goalscoring record for one season.

This came after he helped himself to another six strikes for Championship promotion favourites Fulham in February.

Mitrovic claimed a brace in the 3-0 win against Milwall before netting the winner in their 1-0 victory at Hull City.

He scored both goals in the 2-1 success against Peterborough and rounded off the month again with the crucial strike in the 1-0 triumph at Cardiff.

2. Josh Bowler (Blackpool)

Josh Bowler was the subject of a number of bids in January, but Blackpool shunned the offers and kept hold of their attacking midfielder - and that looks a very good decision.

Bowler produced an outstanding February and had four goals to his name by the end of the month.

He opened his account with a finish in the 3-1 win over Bristol City, before also scoring in the narrow 2-1 lose to Bournemouth.

The midfielder then registered against his former club Queens Park Rangers, a match which ended in a 2-1 defeat.

Bowler finished the month on a high with a goal in the 4-1 win over Reading.

3. Billy Sharp (Sheffield United)

The Championship's all-time leading scorer played a big part in a very successful month for Sheffield United.

The 36-year-old began the month with a crucial goal in the 2-1 win at Birmingham City.

Sharp followed that up with a brace in the Blades' 2-0 victory over West Bromwich Albion.

The veteran striker then played a key role in their 4-0 win over Swansea City, scoring and providing an assist.

4. Kal Naismith (Luton Town)

Clean sheets: 3

Kal Naismith was only converted to central defence this season, but the former striker is shinning for the Hatters.

Naismith helped Luton to three clean sheets in February against Swansea City, West Bromwich Albion and Derby County.

He also chipped in with a couple of assists, claiming one in each of the wins over West Brom and Stoke City.

5. Brennan Johnson (Nottingham Forest)

Brennan Johnson and Nottingham Forest both enjoyed a very good February.

Having helped Forest keep their FA Cup run going he claimed a goal in the huge 2-0 win at promotion rivals Blackburn Rovers.

The Wales international then fired ten-man Forest to a 2-2 draw with Stoke before scoring in the 2-0 success against Bristol City.

6. Lucas Joao (Reading)

A really busy month for Reading as they appointed a new manager in February and managed to move themselves away from the drop-zone, with Lucas Joao playing a huge part.

The Portuguese's first goal came in a narrow home loss to Coventry, but things did improve.

Joao was crucial in their 3-2 win at Preston as he scored a brace and created the other.

He followed that up with an important strike in the 2-1 victory over Birmingham before netting in the 4-1 defeat at Blackpool.
