Pep Guardiola 'emotionally destroyed' by Man City win over Bayern
Pep Guardiola has admitted he was 'emotionally destroyed' by Manchester City's frenetic clash with Bayern Munich on Tuesday evening.
City would run out 3-0 winners thanks to goals from Rodri, Erling Haaland and Bernardo Silva in what was a thrilling end-to-end clash up until the final 15 minutes of the game. The win sees the Citizens take a commanding lead heading into the second leg of the quarter final in Munich next Wednesday.
Speaking to the press after the game, Guardiola said that the clash with his former club at the Etihad Stadium was a draining one.
"It was not comfortable. Emotionally I'm destroyed. I have 10 more years [on me] today. It was so demanding game," he said.

"Now I have to relax, a day off for the guys, prepare for Leicester. I know exactly what you have to do there. If you don't perform really well they are able to score one, two, three. I know that. The players know that. It's an incredible result, but we have to do our game with huge, huge personality."
The impressive showing from City undoubtedly makes them heavy favourites to go on and win their first ever UEFA Champions League this season.
City will face off against the winners of Chelsea vs. Real Madrid in the semi finals, while a final clash with any of Napoli, AC Milan, Inter or Benfica could await them in the final in Istanbul.
