Paul Pogba has been one of the best midfielders in the world for the best part of a decade and has scored plenty of truly exquisite goals for Juventus, Manchester United and France during that time.

Here's a closer look at 13 of his very best...

13. Aston Villa (July 2020)

Pogba was the beneficiary of a pulled back corner routine when United faced Aston Villa in the Premier League during 2019/20’s ‘Project Restart’.

But he still had an awful lot to do to turn the situation into a goal. Pogba set himself to shoot and then used the Villa defenders in front of him as a screen to curve the ball into the bottom corner.

12. Fenerbahce (October 2016)

One of Pogba’s earliest goals for United remains one of his best.

He had already converted from the penalty spot in this Europa League group stage clash against Fenerbahce in 2016 and proceeded to add a stunning second to contribute to the 4-1 victory.

The ball was knocked into his path on the edge of the penalty area by Jesse Lingard and the onrushing Pogba just swept his right-footed effort into the top corner.

11. Russia (March 2018)

As France geared up for the 2018 World Cup, Les Bleus faced hosts Russia in a preview friendly that spring – a game Pogba marked with a gem of a free-kick.

He stood over the ball at least 30 yards from goal and struck it with such precision and power that it curved over the wall and down into the bottom corner. In celebration, the goal was dedicated to his later father on what would have been his 80th birthday.

10. Torino (October 2015)

Pogba scored Juventus’ opener in a Serie A city derby against Torino in October 2015, breaking forward from midfield before unleashing a thunderous looping effort.

As the ball made its way to the Frenchman on the edge of the D, it sat up, and with onrushing defenders closing in by the second, improvisation took over and…goal.

9. Torino (March 2016)

Pogba scored in two Turin derbies in one season in 2015/16, getting the opener as Juventus visited their city rivals in the reverse fixture in March of the campaign.

The free-kick was close to 40 yards from goal and few would have dared to take on the shot from that distance. Precision over power was key, bending it up and over the wall and away from the goalkeeper.

8. West Ham (December 2020)

United badly needed something when trailing West Ham and Pogba was the player to deliver it on his return to the starting XI following a difficult start to 2020/21.

United got a helping hand when the officials missed a long clearance likely briefly curving out of play and VAR unable to definitively verify, but as the move developed Pogba was on hand to pretty much pass the ball into the net from 25 yards out.

7. Croatia (July 2018)

Pogba scored for France on the biggest stage of all when he found the net against Croatia in the 2018 World Cup final, capping off a fine individual tournament.

His first effort with his right foot in this passage of play was actually blocked, but the ball rebounded kindly and he struck it first time with his weaker left foot into the net from 20 yards out.

6. Napoli (October 2012)

Pogba was 19 when he scored the first goal of his senior club career and had only started a handful of games for Juventus after making the switch from Manchester in 2012.

It was certainly a special one to get him off the mark in an illustrious career to follow, guiding a low volley on his weaker left foot from 25 yards out into the bottom corner.

5. Swansea (November 2016)

Pogba showed excellent poise, balance and control to ensure this effort in the Premier League against Swansea ended up nestling in the net rather than hitting row Z.

It would have been easy to snatch at the bouncing ball and send it skyward, but Pogba was composed and connected with flawless technique and a bit of backspin.

4. Young Boys (September 2018)

United kicked off the 2018/19 Champions League campaign with a 3-0 win over Swiss side Young Boys and it was Pogba, wearing the captain’s armband, who got the ball rolling.

His tidy footwork on the edge of the penalty area engineered the space for a shot and, albeit with minimal back-lift, dug the ball out with his left foot, rifling it straight in to the top corner.

3. Sampdoria (January 2014)

There was little else on for Pogba 25 yards from goal in a league clash with Sampdoria in the 2013/14 season, looking first to play the ball wide before cutting back in to shoot.

The effort rocketed off his right foot, across the helpless goalkeeper and into the top corner. It proved decisive in the 4-2 victory, which was a 12th consecutive Serie A win for Juve.

2. Napoli (November 2013)

Pogba scored a self-set up volley as Juventus beat Napoli 3-0 in Serie in October 2013, turning a firm pass inside from Arturo Vidal into a truly spectacular goal.

Pogba’s first touch saw the ball jump into the air, creating a perfect opportunity to volley at goal. That is exactly what he did, waiting until it dropped back down and sweetly striking through it.

1. Udinese (January 2013)

Again, very early in his career, Pogba scored a screamer for Juventus against Udinese in Serie A. He was still to turn 20 and had a youthful arrogance that made him try things without fear.

The teenager was perhaps 40 yards from goal when he collected the ball and shaped to shoot, deliberately slicing across it to create bend. The best angle was from behind him, showing the arc of the shot from outside to in.
