Four days removed from smashing Paris Saint-Germain into oblivion, Newcastle United must get their heads back in the game when they travel to West Ham United on Sunday.

The Magpies are riding the crest of a wave after teaching Luis Enrique's serial Ligue 1 winners a lesson at St James' Park, but they head down to the capital counting the cost of injury problems and ill-discipline.

Sven Botman, Joelinton, Harvey Barnes and Joe Willock all have injuries of varying severity, and Callum Wilson is also struggling with a hamstring issue. Throw Anthony Gordon's suspension into the mix for picking up five yellow cards, and suddenly things don't feel so great knowing West Ham are also in good touch.

Here's how Eddie Howe may set his team out to try and take all three points back to the North East.

GK: Nick Pope - You'd have been scoffed at 12 months ago for suggesting Nick Pope is a better goalkeeper than Gianluigi Donnarumma. The Italian made some decent stops midweek, sure, but also shipped four and makes way more mistakes than Pope. You do the math.

RB: Kieran Trippier - The Premier League assist king and all-around FPL dreamboat is one of the first names on Eddie Howe's team sheet.

CB: Jamaal Lascelles (c) - Coming back into the side after an extensive watching brief was never going to be easy, but Lascelles has slotted straight into Sven Botman's shoes.

CB: Fabian Schar - With St James' Park rocking, 60,000 screaming voices encouraged Schar to smash one top bins on Wednesday night. Incredibly, that's what he did from a solid 25 yards out.

LB: Dan Burn - The Blyth-born beauty put in the performance of his life against PSG. Quite the fairytale story.

CM: Sean Longstaff - As far as academy graduate stories go, Sean Longstaff's is right up there. Written off by many, the 25-year-old is now genuinely in the conversation when discussing Gareth Southgate's potential England call-ups.

CM: Bruno Guimarares - It's a matter of time before Newcastle announce a new long-term contract for Guimaraes - that might just be the most important piece of business they do this year.

CM: Sandro Tonali - Any doubts over whether Tonali made the right career move by heading to Newcastle from Milan were put firmly to bed midweek. And he was pure class to boot.

RW: Miguel Almiron - Showed superb anticipation to scorch home Newcastle's opener against PSG, building on the pearler he scored against Burnley four days prior.

ST: Alexander Isak - Callum Wilson is struggling with a hamstring injury, so all eyes are on Isak to run West Ham's defence ragged.

LW: Jacob Murphy - With Anthony Gordon suspended, Harvey Barnes on the treatment table and Wilson also hurt, Newcastle may need Murphy to flip over to the other flank and stretch the game.
