Many of the top sides in the Premier League are struggling with injuries right now but the situation is perhaps the worst at Newcastle United.

The depleted Magpies have a tough Premier League game against Fulham to navigate on Saturday afternoon.

Eddie Howe saw two more of his most important players pick up issues during the Champions League defeat against AC Milan on Wednesday night. Kieran Trippier and Anthony Gordon were both withdrawn in the second half, although the former is suspended for this game anyway.

Newcastle's form has stalled thanks to the raft of absences, while Fulham have romped to consecutive 5-0 victories, scoring 16 goals across their last four games. They will be smelling blood at St James' Park.

Here is the starting lineup that Howe may choose for Newcastle's visit from Fulham this weekend.

Dan Burn

GK: Martin Dubravka - With Nick Pope out injured, Martin Dubravka is Newcastle's number one and he is a very capable replacement.

RB: Tino Livramento - Kieran Trippier probably needed the rest that his suspension brings here, although he didn't need an injury to go with it. The good news is that Livramento is a very good player to bring in.

CB: Jamaal Lascelles - Fans will want to see Sven Botman back in the team as soon as possible but for now, Jamaal Lascelles is doing the best he can.

CB: Fabian Schar - It is a rare thing to have a centre-back that brings such a goal threat, so Newcastle really have a gem in Schar. A lot is being asked of him right now and he would love a calm clean sheet.

LB: Dan Burn - Big Dan Burn is back in the team folks. He came off the bench against Milan and with Livramento needed on the right, he should start at left-back here.

CM: Sean Longstaff - Lewis Miley was given the nod against Milan but Sean Longstaff is expected to take his place for Fulham's visit as Howe seeks to protect Miley's fitness.

CM: Bruno Guimaraes - Denied a superb and important strike by a great Mike Maignan save against Milan so he will be looking for a goal against Fulham.

CM: Joelinton - The Brazilian did get a goal against Milan and it was an excellent one. He has managed to stay fit this season which is a big boost for the Magpies.

RW: Miguel Almiron - His endless running caused some issues for Milan on Wednesday and he could have scored on at least one occasion. The same performance with more of a clinical edge should yield results against Fulham.

ST: Alexander Isak - Coming in for Callum Wilson, Alexander Isak needs to show why Howe should be choosing him on the big occasions.

LW: Lewis Hall - With Anthony Gordon potentially injured, Hall is expected to start on the left and he will be trying to play his way into the team on a more regular basis.
