The New York Red Bulls battled from a goal down to draw 1-1 at home to FC Cincinnati on Saturday.

Former RBNY center-back Matt Miazga opened his FC Cincinnati account after just 13 minutes, heading home Alvaro Barreal's free-kick to give the visitors the lead against the run of play.

Yael Averbuch West hosted none other than Christian Fuchs for the latest episode of Football Americana. The Charlotte FC captain provided insight into the creation of Major League Soccer’s newest expansion team, and bringing European culture into the American side.

However, RBNY quickly re-established their dominance and, just 10 minutes later, they were level with Patryk Klimala scoring a penalty won by Andreas Reyes, who was brought down by Junior Moreno.

Both sides pushed hard for another breakthrough but Roman Celentano was in-form behind a solid Cincinnati defense, while the Red Bulls' center-backs did a great job on in-form strikers Brenner and Brandon Vazquez.

The Red Bulls remain in a strong position, sitting fourth in the Eastern Conference with a place in the MLS Cup Playoffs now looking all but certain. FC Cincinnati, meanwhile, remain in the thick of the race for the final few post-season spots and will be happy with a road point, despite giving up a lead.

Here are the full player ratings from the clash at Red Bull Arena:

1. New York Red Bulls (4-2-3-1)

GK: Carlos Coronel - 5/10 - Couldn't stop Miazga's header. Was rarely called into action otherwise.

RB: Kyle Duncan - 6/10 - Got into some great positions but missed his mark time and again when crossing.

CB: Sean Nealis - 7/10 - Made a couple of vital defensive interventions to keep Cincy at arm's length.

CB: Andres Reyes - 8/10 - Made a huge one-on-one challenge to stop a Brandon Vazquez breakaway and won the penalty for Klimala to equalize.

LB: John Tolkin - 9/10 - A tackling machine, and yet still had time to create a few chances at the other end.

CM: Daniel Edelman - 8/10 - Another excellent performance from the teenager, who was composed on the ball and robust without it. The only downside was the chance he blazed over the bar in the second half.

CM: Dru Yearwood - 7/10 - Very clean on the ball and worked hard for the team.

RW: Cameron Harper - 7/10 - Lively and dangerous, just missing a bit of composure with the final ball.

CAM: Cristian Cassares Jr - 7/10 - Continues to look comfortable as a No.10, getting into some great shooting positions and pressing effectively.

LW: Caden Clark - 3/10 - Touched the ball just 24 times and only completed six of his 12 attempted passes. A passenger.

ST: Patryk Klimala - 8/10 - Scored his first MLS goals since May 18 from the spot and battled hard against FC Cincinnati's giant center-backs all evening.

SUB: Lewis Morgan (58', for Clark) - 5/10 - Rested following a livewire performance against Atlanta United. A couple of bright moments but unable to have an impact from the bench.

SUB: Aaron Long (58', for Reyes) - 7/10 - Continued where Reyes left off. Solid.

SUB: Luquinhas (58', for Harper) - 7/10 - Upped the tempo and looked to get RBNY on the front foot.

SUB: Steven Serrwadda (75', for Yearwood) - 6/10 - No fireworks, but looked composed on the ball.

SUB: Tom Barlow (83', for Klimala) - N/A - Didn't get into the game.

2. FC Cincinnati (3-4-1-2)

GK: Roman Celentano - 6/10 - Only conceded via a penalty. Made a couple of decent saves.

CB: Nick Hagglund - 7/10 - Totally dominant in the air and kept things as simple and effective as he always does.

CB: Geoff Cameron - 8/10 - Nothing got past Cameron here. Guided the Cincinnati backline excellently.

CB: Matt Miazga - 8/10 - Scored his first FC Cincinnati goal against his old club to open the evening. Largely dominant defensively both in the air and on the floor.

RWB: Alvas Powell - 6/10 - Was solid defensively but didn't offer much going forward.

CM: Obinna Nwobodo - 7/10 - Saw a lot of the ball, always looked to push Cincinnati forward.

CM: Junior Moreno - 5/10 - Worked hard and broke up play, but was unfortunate to give away a penalty.

LWB: Alvaro Barreal - 8/10 - Provided a perfect cross for Miazga's goal. Put in a strong defensive performance.

CAM: Luciano Acosta - 6/10 - Not Lucho's most productive night, but still showed flashes of brilliance.

ST: Brenner - 5/10 - Only managed one shot. Well marshaled by the RBNY defense.

ST: Brandon Vazquez - 3/10 - After four straight MLS games with a goal, Vazquez was surprisingly poor. Only completed five passes all night and failed to attempt a shot.

SUB: Ian Murphy (62', for Miazga) - 7/10 - Filled in well for Miazga from the bench.

SUB: Raymon Gaddis (77', for Powell) - 5/10 - Barely touched the ball.

SUB: Yuya Kubo (78', for Moreno) - 6/10 - Looked bright and positive despite limited minutes.

SUB: Arquimides Ordonez (90', for Vazquez) - N/A - No time to get into the game.
