Major League Soccer action is underway after the March international window, and the goals did not disappoint. 

Week 5 of the 2022 campaign saw Bill Tuiloma stun the Western Conference with a perfectly timed free kick against the LA Galaxy at Provide Park, while at the other end Alexandre Pato pulled one back for Orlando City vs. LAFC

Here’s all you need to know about this edition of Goals of the Week …

5. Alexandre Pato (vs. LAFC)

Alexandre Pato leveled the match against LAFC with a stunning left footed shot from the center of the box to the bottom right corner. It was Pato’s second goal of the season and overall for Orlando City since joining in 2021. 

Despite ultimately falling 4-2 to LAFC, Pato’s efforts did not go unnoticed.

4. Ilie Sanchez (vs. Orlando City)

Ilie Sanchez’s goal propelled LAFC to their 4-2 triumph over Orlando City and maintain atop the Western Conference table. The player managed a phenomenal right footed shot from more than 35 yards out to find the top right corner and earn a spot on this week’s list. 

His goal enabled LAFC to remain one of only three unbeaten Major League Soccer sides.

3. Bill Tuiloma (vs. LA Galaxy)

After being accredited with an own goal in the first half, Bill Tuiloma redeemed himself with a stunning free kick in the 51st minute. The player managed to curve the strike perfectly before burying it into the top right corner to pull one back for his side.

2. Joao Paulo (vs. Minnesota United)

In honorable second place is the Sounders’ Joao Paulo. The midfielder scored his first goal of the season against Minnesota United to stun fans and propel Seattle to a 2-1 victory. After a rough start to their 2022 MLS campaign, Paulo is working tirelessly to bring the Sounders back to their best.

1. Maxi Urruti (vs. San Jose Earthquakes)

Maxi Urruti, take a bow. The player leads this week’s list with his right footed strike from just outside the box. 

Urruti connected with Julio Cascante before finding the top right corner of the box and kick off the scoring against the San Jose Earthquakes. Austin FC held the Earthquakes to a 2-2 draw, but the score does not accurately reflect the efforts on the pitch.
