Mauricio Pochettino has admitted he "cannot" compare Chelsea forward Armando Broja to Harry Kane following the forward's first goal of the season.

Broja made his first start under new manager Pochettino on Monday evening thanks to Nicolas Jackson's suspension and thoroughly impressed by scoring in the crucial 2-0 win over Fulham.

Despite Jackson's return from his ban, Broja remained in the starting lineup for the Blues' 4-1 win over Burnley on Saturday - a game which Jackson came off the bench to score in.

Speaking this week, Mauricio Pochettino discussed the surprising comparisons that have been made between Broja and legendary Tottenham striker Kane - a forward who became truly world class under the guidance of Pochettino during his tenure at White Hart Lane - and admitted that the Chelsea forward has a long way to go before he reaches Kane's level.

"It was different [with Kane]. I cannot say he is like him. He is young, he has talent. It's only up to him now to show he can cope with the pressure to play here and to improve. Because he scored the other day we are not going to say that he is going to play tomorrow or he is going to be in the starting XI and now he is a big star.

"Armando needs time. He needs to improve in many aspects, in many areas. He has the talent, of course. He is a striker that can score goals. Yes. And he needs to prove he can be a top scorer in the Premier League. Still a lot of things to do."

Broja will be hoping he retains his place in the Chelsea starting XI for his side's huge London derby clash with high-flying Arsenal after the international break.
