Marcus Rashford has promised England fans that the Three Lions will 'come again' following their exit from the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The Three Lions were one of the favourites going into tournament this winter having ammassed a huge wealth of talent in recent years.

Despite largely dominating their quater-final clash with France, ultimately England would fall to the reigning champions on Saturday losing 2-1 thanks to a second half winner from Olivier Giroud despite winning two penalties - with Harry Kane scoring one and missing the other.

One of England's star players throughout the campaign in Qatar was Rashford, who bagged himself three group stage goals. Taking to Twitter after his nation's World Cup exit, the Man Utd forward called the tournament a 'rollercoaster':

"The last few weeks have been a rollercoaster of emotions, each and every one of our team gave everything we had to be ready for what was thrown at us, we got close, but not close enough.

"I’ll make a promise that we will come again!

"Thank you for the unconditional support."

Fellow Man Utd star Harry Maguire also spoke after the defeat, criticising the performance of Wilton Sampaio: "The referee's decision-making tonight was really poor. It would be nice to see if he comes out to say if he's had a good game or not.

"We were the better team in the game. I think anybody who watched as a neutral would say we dominated the game for large period. Big decisions went against us - a lot of decisions, I should say."
