It's been a bumpy road for Erik ten Hag in his debut season at the helm, but that was always expected given Manchester United's turbulence in a post-Fergie world.

While the Dutchman has endured several miserable lows this term, including the recent abject 3-0 defeat in Seville, there's no doubt that his first campaign at Old Trafford has been an overall success.

United are heading in the right direction under Ten Hag, who could yet end 2022/23 with a top four spot and two trophies, having already won the Carabao Cup and reaching June's FA Cup final.

Here's what United's next six games look like as they aim to finish the season strong.

Unai Emery's Aston Villa sit among the most in-form sides in the division and they've emerged as outsiders for a Champions League spot.

However, if they are to challenge the likes of United and Newcastle, they simply have to win at Old Trafford next time out on Sunday afternoon.

United then visit West Ham at a weird time late on Sunday evening.

The Hammers are surely safe in their fight against the drop, but they'll still have something to play for when United visit. The Irons have come on leaps and bounds since their 5-1 drubbing at the hands of Newcastle, with Arsenal's recent trip to the London Stadium depicting their improvement.

United's form at Old Trafford has been super impressive this season with Ten Hag restoring the Theatre of Dreams as a fortress.

They haven't been beaten on home soil in the Premier League since Brighton turned them over on matchday one. Wolves, meanwhile, have taken just 11 points from their 16 away trips this season.

The Red Devils' final away game of the season once again arrives on the south coast, but this time they're taken on a Bournemouth side that'll likely be in the midst of the dogfight at the bottom of the table.

Gary O'Neil has impressed in charge of the Cherries, guiding them to two huge wins in April, but their safety is far from guaranteed.

Their FA Cup semi-final against Brighton meant this fixture had to be rearranged and it was recently revealed that the encounter will now take place on 25 May - three days before the final game of the season.

United fans will be hoping that they've got a top-four spot already locked up seeing as this contest will inevitably finish 0-0 with the two sides probably combining for three shots on target between them.
