Donny van de Beek's recent decision to change agent came about after he was advised to do so by some of his Manchester United teammates.

The Dutchman, who has struggled for minutes ever since his £35m move to Old Trafford in 2020, recently hired the services of Ali Dursun, who represents United team-mate Victor Lindelof and fellow Dutch star Frenkie de Jong.

The switch is believed to have something to do with Van de Beek's desire to seek a move away from United. He's played just six minutes in the Premier League this season, having started just four games last year.

Van de Beek's lack of minutes was recently said to have contributed to the dressing room unrest facing manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, with some teammates openly questioning the boss' treatment of the Dutchman, and it appears as though those same players have taken their support of Van de Beek to the next level.

According to the Daily Mail, the decision to change agents came about after Van de Beek spoke to some of his teammates about his situation, with those players urging him to switch agents.

Van de Beek is understood to be ready to call time on his spell with United, and it seems like his teammates want to see him set free too after watching the midfielder get stuck in purgatory in the last 18 months.

Both Everton and Wolves are believed to have reached out over a potential January loan, but with Dursun now on the case, it remains to be seen what the future holds for Van de Beek.

The 24-year-old finds himself in an unenviable position as United will be reluctant to let him go. They paid £35m for him just 18 months ago, he's still young and remains under contract until 2025. There's even an option to extend that deal by a further year.

United will demand a high price to sell Van de Beek, which might mean a loan exit is his only real option.
